To me it looks like they are still rescheduling cancelled interviews. I think people who applied in Dec happened to have one schedule before covid closing. I don't think they will start to schedule new one anytime soon especially that they didn't lay off people but cut operations which doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Plus don't forget there was "citizen training" scheduled in our office in Sept.

All of this hold up must be because of election year... most of dem states are terribly delayed.

You are right! even though my estimated completion is October 2020 which i dont trust a bit.

We are from Chicago and my husband had his I751 approved last September.  Then he filed the N400 on December 29th 2019 at the Chicago office. He had the biometrics appt in January and  has heard nothing since then. The estimated completion date originally said August 2020. Then when August rolled around, it changed to October 2020. So for those of you wondering about people who filed in December  2019, we are still waiting for an interview date.

We are in a similar position but we filed N400 end of January 2020 so one month after you and still nothing since biometrics and our estimated completion says November 2020.

Sooo we are also patiently waiting :(

I know three people from different forum who applied in April 2019. one or two got scheduled this past april for interview but got canceled coz of virus. They havent even heard for rescheduling. This is really upsetting since some of the people who applied in different offices already had there oath ceremony and in chicago it seems the office is still closed due to pandemic.

April 2019?? And they're still waiting? That's terrible....my husband applied in April 2020, so I guess that means he is way at the back of the line. :( It's not just Chicago that's super slow, apparently Seattle is even worse.

Yeah we have formed a whats app group for chicago filers and whoever joins it updates its timeline. when i saw April 2019 i asked him if it was a typo error he said nope he is waiting since April 2019. another member in the group confirmed her status as well been waiting since April. Its just heart breaking since this administration is all about less immigrants getting citizenship. otherwise they would have speed the process and try to get as more people vote.

I just checked my uscis account and my interview has been rescheduled!

I applied on Nov 23, my original interview was scheduled for March 24. New interview date - Oct 5.

I didn't get the notification I usually receive when there're updates in my account, glad I checked it today.

Ugh that's very frustrating. I wonder how long the backlog is. It frustrates me that a case at the Chicago office isn't considered out of normal processing time unless it's older than  August 01, 2018. That seems insanely slow. I just hope they waive/reuse biometrics for the post-Covid filers otherwise that will just bog everything down even more.

I checked the VJ timeline data for N-400 Chicago and it looks like people who filed back in December 2019 are still waiting. It seems before Covid, Chicago's office used to be much faster and now it's just ground to a halt. We have no idea how long it is going to take them to get through all those re-schedules since it seems to be moving at a snail's pace right now... :(
