Thank you for updating us. Sounds like they have a pretty big backlog of reschedules to get through still.

How can I get a real person to talk to about the case?  And is there a way to find out where my case is, without calling?

Wanted to check if its in my local (Chicago) office already 

I really do hope they will start scheduling new interviews in Chicago soon  🤞

You can call the USCIS phone number and talk to an agent.

Do you have accounts on both the old site (https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do) and the new site (https://myaccount.uscis.gov/)?

 

You can submit a case inquiry online as well:  https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do

The status of your inquiry will be on the old site.

Yes I do have access to both sites  and I actually was able to finally talk to someone /real person instead of getting automatic info.

Anyways very nice lady told me that the office has 90 days from the time they re-opened to schedule my case for interview so nothing really new.

Probably just a standard answer, oh well ⌛ gotta keep waiting

Hopefully soon they will start scheduling new interviews. Right now they are doing rescheduled interviews, someone mentioned.

Where did they get that 90 day number? Is that just the standard answer they've been giving everyone who is waiting for a rescheduled interview?

Just checked official case processing times for N-400 at the Chicago office and it increased from 8.5 months to 10.5 months (for the lowest estimate).

Although not Chicago filer, we here (Philadelphia office) share the same frustration as you guys. Our processing time increased from 11-18 mo to 12.5-20.5 mo. Earlier, I had a slight feeling that the Philadelphia office might have been only rescheduling old naturalization interviews but wasn't so sure about it, learned something new after reading some of the above posts in this thread, seems like the same thing is happening at our office.

Indeed, it seems like just no movement at all is happening apart from reschedules right now. I think that might be what the "3 months" estimate on myuscis site is showing, in regards to that 90 days that @chicago2020 mentioned. The only office I've heard of so far that seems to be moving at all is Cleveland, OH (which is the fastest in the US).

The lady from the main office, while she was checking the status of my case( if its in Chicago local office already), mentioned to me that they have 90 days from re-opening too schedule me for the interview. I asked if she means "re-schedules" or new interviews and she said "your case" - which is a new, first time interview not a re-schedule - sooooo I do not know anymore what is going on. 

 

However I did talk to an immigration lawyer in the mean time and he did confirm that unfortunately as of right now, Chicago is scheduling only cancelled interviews and people that didn't pass their interviews and no one has been scheduled yet in Chicago area at least with new once at her office  

 

That's all what I was able to find out.

OK thank you! That's so helpful. That's so crazy, why is it taking so long to re-schedule people? I hope the ball gets rolling soon....USCIS was supposed to be priortizing citizenship cases, seems like Chicago didn't get the memo.

Let’s find out what month Chicago office is processing cases. Anyone form 2019 still waiting for their interview to be re-schedule? If so what month did you apply? People who go their re-scheduled interview notice, when did you apply?

I know one person who filed in december 2019 and she had a reschedule intetview on August 20th. He/she hasnt updated anything since then.
