Hi everyone,

I have 2 questions for all of you who did the oath ceremony and got the passport.

First question- for all of you who got the passport at the passport agency, did they send you the passport or you need to pick it up from the same place?

Second question- I know that they take the original naturalization certificate, so did you get the certificate back together with the passport, if not, how long does it take to get the original certificate back?

Thanks

1. Picked it up from the same place.

2. You get it back at the same time you get your passport.

Do you get a notification when the passport is done or.. how does that work? Thank you so much for the response- I really appreciate that.

NP.  They'll give you a date and a window to time to pick up your documents.  And if that time doesn't work for you, they have hours on other days where you can pick up your documents -  they will give you all that information at your appointment.

When do you get the date and time? On the same appointment when you fill the documents for the passport?? Cause I have the ceremony tomorrow- hopefully I will be able to get the app at 10.30 tomorrow, right after the ceremony. Cause I am supposed to travel internationally on Sunday.

Yes at the same appointment.

Note that you’re expected to already have the application filled out. Have you made the appointment? It tells you what you’re supposed to show up with once you do.

Also it says you need to take a copy of your ID and Certificate, but the passport agent will do it for you for free.

Yes I did. But I am afraid I won't make it. The app is at 10.30am- I hope that the ceremony will be done by then... huh, freaking out.

Ah. Well hopefully they’ll let you in even if you’re just a few minutes late. Good luck, I hope it all works out!

One more last question, I promise lol. Do you know how long does is take the Oath ceremony?  As from all I read- I think that they were saying that the Oath was usually done by 10.30.. do you have an idea??

NP at all. It look less than 1.5 hours-- and that included registering to vote.  You should be fine.

No, I didn’t travel outside of us. I believe the only reason is HE IS THE NEW TRAINED OFFICER! My friend‘s interview was three weeks after me, but she already got her oath last week. She also traveled outside of us in the past six month. So the world just looks like lottery. You can’t choose what you want!

I did not travel abroad, in last year now.  But now when I think about it again under "Citation and Arrest" I put in 2 of my speeding tickets, he told me that I do not have to mention speeding tickets as it was not an actual arrest and said will update the file. Apart from that I had no issues.  It was suppose to be my bad luck that day, as I was originally scheduled for the senior officer.  While I was in the interview the senior officer did walk in and said that I was his case :( I guess one of this days they realize that they forgot to approve us and we are all approved at the same time fingers crossed.
