Yes thank you..it works. But I actually never received any letter from them since October 2017 except the first letter of accepting my case and the second letter for BIO and those letters I can't find them online just to make sure if they sending me the letters online too or just in mail!! (May be because they are old letters or may be because I created my online account after I received those old letters?

Yes I only have the letters in mine that they have sent since creating the account, so that’s probably the norm. I just like the fact that I get an email when there is something happening with my case so I don’t need to keep checking!

Ha!

So, little update: we had a citizenship interview for November 2017 that the officer refused to conduct because the I-751 was still pending. I-751 interview passed in December, still waiting all these months later for the N-400 to be rescheduled. Fast-forward to two days ago, we submitted a change of address form because we've just moved to a new state.

Checked the account online today... we received a noticed, dated two days ago: "This is to advise you that, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to cancel the previously scheduled interview on Thursday, November 02, 2017 at XX for the above applicant. We regret any inconvenience this may cause."

No kidding! Why are they telling us now in June that they cancelled an interview back last November... which we know perfectly well because we were there when the officer refused to conduct it. My goodness! Really makes the think the application has been sitting in a forgotten corner somewhere. In any case, there's also a note in the account that the case has been transferred to another field office for review. If only it wouldn't take much longer than the statutory 90 days after moving to a new district for this to get finished up...

Please cross your fingers for us, even as we leave Chicago jurisdiction!

@AK_2014 - Fingers crossed and praying. That is quite a nightmare!

We have also applied for N400 with I-751 pending. Is it fairly typical for N400 interviews to get denied when I751 is pending? I have read on some forums that they sometimes complete the two together.

5/1/2014: I-130 Sent (Nebraska Service Center)

5/23/2015: US Entry :jest:

3/1/2017: Filed i-751 (California Service Center,  transferred to National Benefits Center on 3/13/2018)

2/23/2018: Filed N-400 online at Chicago, IL
10/03/2018: i751-N400  combo interview successful

11/05/2018: Completed Oath Ceremony, Certificate of Naturalization in hand! :jest:

When I had my interview, i got scheduled for oath exactly 48 hours after my interview (had my interview at 9am on a Wednesday and Friday 9am i got an email that i was scheduled for oath) had my oath about 12 days after that :)

This is great! I hope they do the same for me. I saw that in my city they have the ceremony on July 4. I’m hoping they can squeeze me in then. There’s hope!

Hi there! I am based in Central IL as well, and yes, oaths here are few and far between. I interviewed on April 10 in Chicago and was gutted that I didn't

get into the June 22 oath in Springfield. I hope I'll be scheduled for the next oath, which is in Rock Island on July 20.

You can find the list of 2018 naturalization ceremonies in Central Illinois at this link: http://www.ilcd.uscourts.gov/news/2018-naturalization-ceremonies

Holy cow. That’s depressing to know I’m two months behind you and no oath ceremony. I am terrified I I’ll get September 21st... I fly to England on September 23rd. No time to get an expedited passport and obviously I can’t make the September 35th either.   😞 I am going to make an infopass appointment if I haven’t heard by mid August. Good luck with July 20th appointment!

Yes I have the list of Ceremonies... I even called a few of the places!!

Unbelievable! I was hoping you had heard something by now. I wish you the best of luck as you transfer to a new jurisdiction.

Thanks! It is what it is... and, some day (or year) or another, it'll be finished.

We fully expected them to complete the two together, too, and were very surprised when things didn't go that way. There were at least two other Chicago cases right after us (November/December 2017) that reported the same situation we did. Since then, though, I've read of at least one case where Chicago did conduct a joint interview, so it seems that they might have changed their policy for the better. Good luck with yours! :-)

@AK_2014 I keep getting emails from uSCIS to say that my case has no status changes and that my case is still under review. I've been a citizen now since April and have our passports and everything ! Your mail could be a repeat or something like I keep getting. 🙄🙄🙄 Hope you get some closure soon.

You can get a passport the day you are sworn in. We did that. We were sworn in as citizens that morning and had appointments made for expedited passports that afternoon. Showed our certificates and proof of travel and walked out the door passports in hand .

This is true however the ceremony on that day (a Friday) is in a federal court house and starts in the afternoon at 2pm. I don’t think I would have time to be at an expediated passport place in time...the nearest same day is Chicago and the ceremony is in Springfield. 😞
