Criminal REcord&AOS

I came to USA with K1 visa and married to USC last month, now we will apply for AOS, I worry If my criminal record would effect AOS process? When I applied for visa at Embassy I told them everything about my criminal record and Embasy issued K1 visa without any waiver. Also Do Embassy send the original papers in that yellow envelope to the USCIS?

What kind of criminal record ? it depends, if you were convicted or not... and if it is a crime of moral turpitude which is a term used in criminal law to describe conduct that is considered contrary to community standards of justice, honesty, or good morals. Crimes involving moral turpitude have an inherent quality of baseness, vileness, or depravity with respect to a person's duty to another or to society in general. Ex.: rape, forgery, robbery, aggravated assault, drugs, larceny and of course, murder.

But honestly, I think if you got a visa, especially a visa that will ultimately allow you to LIVE in the United States, I don't think you will have a problem. However, make sure you check YES to the questions that apply to your case when filling out I-485 form and attach court papers, and a letter explaining what happened.
