what are your hobbies?

working only part time, living in a city where i only know a few people, and waiting for my fiance's interview has given me SO MUCH TIME on my hands... i've practically been a hermit this winter (not used to snow and cold) and haven't done most of the hobbies i normally do. it should be a crime to say i'm bored in a city like NYC. there is an endless amount of things to do here. but when i'm feeling down, i'm the kind of person who keeps to herself rather than go out and make myself DO SOMETHING. but its time to change things up a bit!

what are your hobbies? (besides reading/posting on vj) :)

normally i love:

TRAVEL (but i keep returning back to morocco over and over...can't wait for abdou to get here and get his gc so we can go, go, go new places!!)

photography

music of all kinds...downloading, my ipod, music festivals, concerts, etc.

cooking/reading about cooking/going out to eat (but especially in ethnic restaurants)

kayaking when i'm near an ocean and its somewhat warm!

reading

interior design

watching movies

spinning (but i'd like to buy a bike and ride it around here too)

so much more but those are the main ones i've focused on.

i need new hobbies. and to go back and do more of my old ones i've been seriously slacking on! SO, what do you like?

I scrapbook like a fiend. First I take tons of pictures and then I put them in scrapbooks. It's been really nice to kind of see my whole life in ordered pictures. I have 3 scrapbooks of my trips to Jamaica alone. I scrapbooked our entire courtship and married life. They came in very helpful for the K-1 process.

Besides scrapbooking, I also make cards to mail and sell.

I also read, watch all police/law related shows like I've never seen one (even if I have seen that particular rerun many times), roller skate/inline skate, jog, and ride bikes. Travelling is a hobby I love; but don't always get to do as much as I would like.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

I play golf on the weekends and Claudeth has been going with me and is doing pretty good whacking the little pill for a novice. We also try to go to the gym but I sometimes just can't get her out of bed in the mornings. We both love reading but she gets into some stranges things like palm reading that I stay away from. We both love to draw and have talked about taking a class, I just haven't had the time to see if there are any art classes offered in our area in the evenings. We also both love music and Claudeth is trying to learn how to play the piano. She have a beautiful voice and I can just sit and listen to her sing for hours. I used to hook rugs and that is very time consuming if you are looking to just burn some daylight!

Taekwondo, but I'm behind and the adult class is during the time my fiance is online. I havn't been able to kick myself into going to class much since I got back.

Horseback riding. I waited a few weeks after I got back from my trip to Morocco before I resumed these lessons. I was reading young adult horse stories and was inspired to call the barn and say, "I'm back, put me on the list!"

Cross-stitch. Keeps hand and eyes busy. Problem is, when I sit down with it, I want to work for many hours before I'm willing to stop.

Try to go out with friends once/week.

Taking a literature class right now. Reading Naguib Mahfouz. I'm not being a very good student. But it does distract me.

Read about horses, islam, and whatever else I happen to pick up. Biography of some soccer player, bats, poetry. Whatever jumps out at me. Or falls on my head

My dog and my cat.

I try to distract myself from the visa thing while my fiance is busy doing his thing sooo many miles away.

No job. Alone, family scattered, friends busy. When I get back from my Morocco trip in May, I'll look for a job. Until then, I'm unemployed. (no worry about supporting him until he gets on his feet here, otherwise I would be slaving away like a real human being...instead of typing here)

If I cause offense it is not on purpose, think about that before you take offense. If you feel offended, consider that maybe I'm not talking about you and maybe I accidentally stumbled onto a sore area and do not know. Thank you.
