One thing I took for granted in the US was how easy credit was to get. When I graduated in Canada, even with 5k down our hybrid SUV they still freaked out and told me I needed to either put 50% down (?!?), keep my job for two years (just exited and got hired), and get my 150k student loan debt (which inflated my utility) down significantly. I had the same situation in the US coming out from San Jose State and I was instantly approved for a 35k car with only 1 pay stub and initial costs down (taxes and such on my new CC with 5k limit I also got).

 

Oh Canada.
