Can someone tell me if it is posible cross the border with a K1 visa Through entry point by land?? we wanna do a road trip and i am worried i we can´t cross from Mexico to the USA with my K1 visa! HELP!!!!

You can enter the USA by Air, Land, and Sea as long as you have a valid visa. Alot of people drive up from Mexico or down from Canada once they have their K1 visas.

Are you planning to import your car? Or are you coming on a bus or train? If you are planning to come in your own vehicle you need to read up on the paperwork needed to import your vehicle. If you're coming by bus or in a vehicle that's already registered in the US, you don't need to worry about that.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

I imported my car from Canada. There are emission requirements and other U.S. standards that must be met in order for an foreign vehicle to be imported. Depending on where it was manufactured you may also be subject to paying duty (my Canadian-origin Hyundai was manufactured in South Korea and as a result I had to pay). As far as I know, only Canadian-manufactured cars can be imported duty-free. If your car needs any kind of modifications to fit with U.S. standards those will need to be done as well (for example, my car's speedometer shows both km and mph but if it had only showed km, I'd have had an issue). I was asked to obtain a letter from Hyundai Canada verifying that my car met U.S. Safety and Emissions standards, but Hyundai Canada told me they could provide no such document and could only vouch for my car being compliant with Canadian standards, so that was another issue.

The amount of trouble you have importing really seems dependent on the type of car you have. Many people decide after doing their research that it's cheaper and less stressful to just sell their car and buy a new one in the States. Like you, I had a newer model car and so I didn't want to part with it and decided to just do the work to bring it in country, but it was a huge hassle that lasted 6 months after I'd moved to the States, what with all the issues I faced with the DMV. I'd encourage you to read this document and then search VJ for any threads related to your specific make of car so you can see other people's experiences

True. My wife was teaching Portuguese to a Canadian couple in Houston who were being transferred to Brazil. she had a car she had bought in Detroit. She wanted to take it back to Canada to store until they got back. The regulations were so complicated her husband just sold it to me.
