Hello, it sounds like if you apply for K-3, I-129F and I-130 are usually approved on the same day or close together. It also sounds like this started happening recently (although I may be wrong)?

My question is, now that they are approved close in timting, does that mean I-130s (for people who are also applying for K-3s) are now taking shorter to get approved than before, I-129Fs are taking longer than before, or both, or they haven't really changed?

I'm curious, and also if this did indeed start recently, it would change how I read the historical timelines. Please let me know. Thank you!

I think the growing trend is that they are being approved together but mine certainly weren't! My I-130 was approved two months before my K-3.

Unfortunately what this means for most people is that their I-130's are being retained and if you want to continue with the CR-1 processing you have to pay $200 and wait six months for your I-130 to be transferred. So you basically pursue the K-3 (but it is your choice.)

Nothing I say is legal advice. I recommend you consult a qualified immigration attorney for any questions you may have.
