Alright, is their schedule pretty full normally?  For the interview I mean.

I ask because my fiancée lives in Scotland and has bad anxiety.   I'm going to fly over and take her to London for the medical and it would be much easier if she could do the interview in the same visit.

The medical results can be at the embassy in 3-4 days, especially if you go on a Monday and don't get caught up in weekend delays. If she attends the interview before her results arrive, she won't get the "you're approved" 👍 at the interview but they will say pending medical results. When they check the results, they will carry on and issue the visa.  Interview availability varies but there's  usually something available within three weeks of when you go online to pick a date.

They typically won't do medical and interview same day, but she can always use the contact form and beg them.  Or you could just work it to do that without asking by changing one or the other to line up if you can't line them up on your first try. Make sure she has read all she needs to take to the medical so no hold ups...passport photos, police certificate, things from her doctor...etc. Don't  rush to book anything until you fully understand what is needed for each step and it's arranged. She likely needs a visit to her GP to get shot records, shots, maybe a short history of her anxiety (for mental health part of her visa medical). Sometimes that's a loner wait than to book the visa stuff.

Not sure about K1 requirements or timeline but CR1/IR1 medical costs about 300 pounds + any additional shots you are missing.  Here's their price list : http://www.visamedicals.info/us-price.asp

Jessie makes a good point, worry more about having your vaccinations up to date. The MMR takes 2 injections spaced out by a month (it was however free).

The police cert you can have in 2 days, I left mine till the last minute not realising your needed it before they would book a medical appointment at knightsbridge. So I expedited it on Thursday and had it Saturday morning. Save a bit of money and apply for it as soon as your get your NOA2, I think it takes 10 days without expediting.

Hi all,

I'm going away on Jan 12th until Feb 28th to visit my fiancee, I've noticed that I am unlikely to receive my NOA 2 until January 10th - 15th at this point.

My new query is about the DS-160, do I need to send my passport with the document evidence to consulate, or will a copy of this do? I've noticed a few posts state original and others mention a copy which is why I'm asking.

Thanks,

Gary

Skip what posts say. Follow what the London embassy tells you in their instructions:

Step 2 – Assemble all of the documents required in support of your application, including the Affidavit of Support from your fiance(e) or in the case of a K3 visa applicant, spouse. Download the document checklist (PDF, 2 paqes).  Do not send any documents to the Immigrant Visa Unit.

That means nothing is mailed in which is what I think you are asking. Not original, nor photocopy
