I came with k1 visa and this is 8 months since my application for aos and it still on fingerprint fee received. Ead is send and biometric done. Is it possible the interview will be waived or will i still but i still be interview? If yes why is it taking this long to change to ready to reschedule for interview. I got no rfe.  My office is newark, nj.

Share your experience. Anxiety is killing me here. Thank for your anticipated response

The New Jersey office is one of the most backlogged ones in the country, so if you'll have to go to an interview it will likely take another few months until the actual interview date.

But considering you came on a K-1 Visa and it's already been 8 months on the Fingerprint Fee Received status, there is a chance that your interview might be waived. But you won't know until you either get approved out of nowhere or get the interview waiver letter.

Like TL2016 said, NJ is one of the slowest offices in the country right now together with offices like N.Y. and in Minnesota. No matter if you'll have an interview or not it can still take a few more months of waiting. It's very normal and common for AOS to take a year before it gets approved and you have "only" waited for 8 months, so you're still within normal processing time.

And you can't trust the online case status updates either. My case never showed "case is ready to be scheduled for an interview". After 6 months of "fingerprint fee received" it all of a sudden jumped straight to "interview has been scheduled".

The waiting time is killing everyone, with USCIS you can't even predict or make a plan. Keep hanging there.
