Change of Name in Passport

Hello Everyone I seriously need your help when it comes to this,

 

I need to see if I can change my last name in my passport through my local country embassy in the USA, My country doesnt accept homosexuality and I wonder if I request a name change in my pasport through a gay marriage since I changed my last name, would that make a problem ???


I need guidance through this Please

the best way to find out is to consult with your country's embassy/consulate.

 

In my case (heterosexual marriage) Hong Kong doesn't honour US marriage certificate as a valid proof of name change, if I were to change my passport, I would have to go through deed poll in Hong Kong. So I never bother and never had any issue travelling with my passport in my maiden's name and my green card with my husband's last name.

 

I would suggest taking a copy of your marriage certificate when in doubt.

That depends to the laws in your country. I doubt you will be able to change it due to marriage. Also, I doubt they will allow you to do the paperwork in the consulate. In most countries you have to go to a judge in order to change your name.
