Does Immigration Do House Check-Ups?

my husband and i are currently waiting for our interview date. i mentioned to him something about an apartment. he stated to me that someone told him that we'll have to live at the address stated on the forms for 6 months before we can move anywhere. does immigration show up to your home? do random house checks? check out living areas??

I highly doubt it. If you move and change your address just let USCIS know you changed your address so they can mail you your green card.

Yes if they suspect some red flags in your case, they will come unannounced to see if u live together, interview u and take pictures.

what kinda of red flags would they suspect? we are going to be moving into an apartment 2 more after he arrives in the US..

You can absolutely move, you don;t have to wait 6 months, but you do need to update USCIS of your change of address.  Home visits are uncommon, but they do happen.

When you move to the new address you as the petitioner will fill out and send off I-865 and your immigrant spouse will complete online form AR-11 on USCIS.gov.
