Hello,

Hope anyone can help.  Question 1, I'm now starting to fill up DS-260 for my wife petition.  On the first Part (sorry) I'm already confuse on the question "Have you ever used other names?"  (maiden, religion...etc).

So is it right to click "yes" on the question and put her recent surname before we got married?

Question 2, After the "other surnames used" question there is another question below that "other given names used".  I don't put anything there because she has not used any given names other than her name. but when I'm finished and click on the next page it doesnt go to the next page saying i have to answer the question "other given names".  So is it ok or do i have to put "Does not apply or none" to that question.

Thanks in advance.

You have to put her current given names in the "other given names used" section. I know it sounds strange but that's what the instructions say to do which are down the right hand side beside the question.

For example if her name used to be Mary Jane Kelly then the maiden name goes in the other surname used bit and Mary Jane will go in other given names used, even though it hasn't changed.

Thanks LaurenAndBrent for the reply.  So based on your reply I will put Mary Jane Kelly on the other names used Mary Jane is the given name and Kelly is her surname before marriage. And put Mary Jane on other given names used?

Yep! So her surname before marriage goes in the other surnames used and her current given names go in other given names used (even though it has not changed). When you review the form when you are finished you will understand better why they get you to do this.

Ok...ok... I thought it is safe to just answer NONE or DOES NOT APPLY.  Ok then i'll continue this filling up and ask some questions again if ever i have.

Thank you again LaureAndBrent.

Hi,

I think i'm halfway now on filling DS 260.   Another question is  "Is your spouse immigrating to the U.S. with you?"
I'm the petitioner so this question is for my wife.  So what will I answer then?  I'm not travelling with her to go to the US.   Do i have to answer NO?

When I click no in the form (DS-260)  there is another question pop up, "Is your spouse immigrating to the U.S. at a later date to join you? "  That now made me confused.

I hope anyone can help about my inquiry. thanks.
