Does anyone else have a set wedding date? Mine is July 28. NOA August 24. That's 11 months... if he doesn't make it to the U.S. by then I'm really screwed. But that would be HIGHLY unusual right? Right?

This is wrong information.

this only applies to vj timeline. Uscis uses the received date. Because that is when your file shows as "filed" in their system.

We do as well, in Oct. If I'd found VisaJourney before (only talked to lawyers before.. who actually weren't as helpful as this site), we'd of held off on a set date.  But, our lawyer convinced us he'd be here by March,  haaaaa

I'm even a little concerned about him making it out for our Oct wedding, and I basically need him to be in the states by June because of a work situation that I mostly need to keep confidential.  I'm getting pretty antsy.. At this point, I'd expect Aug NOA2 in March, maybe even April. Then expect close 6 weeks or more for NVC, then another month or so for the consulate/interview if I recall correctly. This link will explain it better, though:

I feel you... and I think your timeline is accurate. I'm thinking we'll be approved by late May or early June. If that becomes the case we will really be scrambling with finalizing the wedding (fittings, etc.) but I guess there's not a whole lot I can do about that. I am currently living abroad with my fiance. I was thinking I was going to be able to go back to grad school in the spring quarter (late March) but that's looking unrealistic now.

One thing I don't understand is why the VJ timeline is still saying early March for us. I could see NOA2 happening in March, but I don't see the interview happening by March. Why is it still so early? Or does that reflect NOA2 and not the entire process?

Unfortunately, that's just NOA2 and not the entire process :( Do you already have deposits done on a venue and stuff?

Sometimes I miss the blissful ignorance days before I found VJ and thought he'd be here by March :D I'm sorry about the delay it's caused for you, though.. Even if you do get approved  in time and whatnot, you can still contact your congressional representative to tell them about the process. It might make a difference, it might not..

Oh don't apologise! I didn't mean it that way :)

they use that information for the vj timelines, but because we are doing scans right now we try to use the uscis received date information as it is what the website will show ;)

I found the below information about that the processing time for the Citizenship has doubled.

https://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/Immigrants-Applying-for-US-Citizenship-Are-Having-to-Wait-Longer-457029143.html

"

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services officials, however, say they're trying to fix the backlog.

"To address the increased processing times, USCIS is allocating additional employee overtime and recruiting to fill vacancies across the country," the agency said in a statement to KPCC."

Interesting to know that the officials know the issues and are working on it. K1 visa processing time has increased too and I hope it will speed up this month...   It is very frustrating  not be able to make plans....
