USCIS wants us to have all these visits.  Well, if our significant others can't get visas to come here it's difficult.  I know I used just about this year's entire vacation and personal leave allotment from my job to go overseas to see him.  That means having to wait about another year to do it again.  I'm waiting to see when the interview will be so I can go to that even if I only spend a few days with him so I can save my time off to use to take him places and meet family members here.

My mother was so sarcastic recently when I was buying my fiancé a winter hat and gloves.  She said, "Come on do you really think he is ever going to be here to use that?"  I guess the waiting gets stressful for the family members too.  Or, maybe it's just people think that it's easier than it is to bring someone here.  Maybe it is because he is Muslim and she thinks he will never get accepted.  Sometimes it feels like it is all a dream.  Waiting and hoping is all we can do.

He'll get approved, so don't mind her. Even though he may miss winter the spring is cold for people who are coming from warm countries so he'll get to use it :)

That sounds lovely, I'm planning to go (once he has the visa in hand) so I can fly back with him .

I would love it if they would give him the visa right away and we could fly back together, but that is wishful thinking.  I figured that I would attend the interview because they want proof of a continuing relationship.  People worry about printing chat logs and e-mails, etc.  I thought he could bring a better proof in the form of bringing his actual fiancée to the interview.  By the time we get this NOA2 and NVC, etc, we will need something to brighten our spirits.  Plus, I hear that the embassy in Cairo tends to be skeptical of the actuality of people's relationships.  We already tried to get married in his country and get a CR-1 and his country were the ones who gave us a hard time and wouldn't let us get married over my divorce document.  I have all the proof in the world of my intention to marry including a previous visit we made to the US Embassy together for me to notarize a paper for his government swearing I was free to marry.  I bet it will be so exciting for you to see the excitement on his face as that plane is landing in the US.  Don't forget, you have to go through the foreigners line with him even though you are a US citizen.  I mean, you don't have to, but if you want to be with him for every step of the way you do, because he can't accompany you in the US citizen line.  This is the most exciting thing ever--to have your best friend in your country and be able to take him everywhere and get him to try all kinds of food and introduce him to everyone.  I hope they are like big kids and so excited like we are every time we are in their countries!

Just because it is adding days here and there doesn’t mean it won’t accelerate the pace in a few weeks.  July had fewer applications than previous months.  And, you could get lucky and they happen to pick yours up a couple of days earlier than the usual order.  Keep the faith.  🎶

Good evening, friends! My timeline was also updated to a week later. It's not a huge surprise at this point. I have taken up fitness classes (Orangetheory) to exercise out my stress. If I stay on top of it, it really helps keep my mind at peace. I'm finally meeting up with my fiance again this upcoming Monday and I'll stay with him until we get his visa. (We've been apart for 3 months now.) We'll be visit-living in Montenegro (affordable and we can both travel there) and eventually Turkey when we're closer to his interview date.

I just want approval by March 26 so I can go to school in the spring quarter! Also, he better make it here by July because the wedding venue is booked, the dress has been purchased, and the save the dates are going out soon! (We'll get married legally way before our actual wedding with our family.)

I had a thought recently... maybe it's more "acceptable" to USCIS to take this long nowadays because we live in such a digital world? Because it didn't used to take this long, right? If cell phones, video chat, text messaging, etc. did not exist, it would be an absolute outrage to keep a couple apart for this long. (Not that it isn't, regardless!)

How are you holding up? I really appreciate all of the positivity on this forum! We need it!

Hi. NOA 1- August 11. Just want to ask. Do you think I’ll have my visa by May 2018? He’s coming home next year and we’re planning if i could just go back with him. Do you think its possible? USCIS is so unpredictable 😭

At this point, no one really knows. But cheer up! We're getting closer. (trying to be optimistic even though pessimism wants to eat me :()

We are too depressed and angry to why we have to wait for this long for a K1 to be approved. 2018 is just around the corner, it will be our year. My advice, don't make any fixed plans yet until you receive the NOA2. We still can't predict what USCIS will do this coming weeks - but I really hope for a speed up when they'll already started approving July cases.

In 9 days, I'm gonna hit the 4 month mark of waiting and it feels like forever. :( But we got this! We have to be stronger than USCIS. Let's keep the faith!

You just may my day thinking about all the things that I will get to share with him as we begin our new life

Not really in a hurry, but being in a long distance relationship for 10years is kinda getting me sort of frustrated already. Heehee. But i’m still staying positive that I’ll have my visa on hand by april or may. 🤞🏻Hope these uscis guys would speed up.
