I think so far "electronic system" increased some of the wait...

for k1s this system is not too effective because they don't really stay at the NVC that long. However it may affect the transit times (if the embassy accepts to go only by digital and not wait for the paper trail-which only some does)

still k1 stays really short to actually have a decrease with it

Naes Calculations are invaluable. I stayed away from this until this month. So glad she’s here. My non scientific methods were getting me no where!

With uscis even scientific methods doesn't work much but at least we are more aware.

you should check daniel's updates too. It apparently shows how August's noa2 averages got way better than July averages. It made me really happy 😊

I wouldnt wish the same wait we are going through for the future month filers!

Now lets clear up august! I have good feelings for the week. Updated or non-updated approvals will be coming in!

Naes,

Do you have an opinion on why everything slowed down all of a sudden?

Past K1's file din 2016 and early 2017 seem to have been mucbh much quicker.

Generally 10 or so days after there's a shot they're ready.  They don't care if you call daily.  I'd start Monday if it were me.  Good luck!

Wow I didn't write about this for a long time.

In summary;

・election years always have more petitions (people afraid of the change in the administration)

normally it goes down after a while, however specialists say this year it didn't decrease when it normally should have.

・there were 700.000 more        naturalization applications, and h1b and daca scare only added to this. the funny thing is k1 itself is actually less  than last year....

・ administration calling for more scrutiny in immigration cases. causes extra rfes and waits.

this year's rfe numbers are way higher than previous years. (hence us getting silly rfes)

・ USCIS messed up big last year with the background checks... by sending out green cards before background checks were over...

so I believe this also has some affect on the issue. making them more serious.

・freeze on hiring government employees, caused the employment number not matching the growing number of petitions. Even if they could keep the headcount, they cannot train them fast enough with these numbers making a mess in the end.

....

I have lots of more possible reasons to count, from immigration researches

(even though this kind of slow down occurs regularly this years situation is actually a sociological issue, so it is actually easy to find some research on what's going on with USCIS-I don't know if most journals are out to public, but because one of my majors was sociology I was able to catch some.)

Patiently waiting using informed delivery!

There are now three garuntee’s in life! Death, Taxes and USCIS “recieved” status torture!

That is a very good answer :P

I assumed new administartion and their attitude towards immigration maikin the process more scrutinous...

Its very interesting about the green card mistake, how silly!

Anyway I hope that after us the 2018 NOA1 people get a smoother ride! I accept it is slow for us but for the future applications this can;t be the norm!

This week in numbers;

This week August came as far as Received date 29th of August.

However, 2 days of this week was RFE only dates, so there were no Approval updates.

As we confirmed before too, these dates (and even dates where we saw updates online) usually means most approvals were/going to be mail only.

August is going stronger than any other month so far, giving me some hope that things will only get better (even if it is not by too much or too fast) from here on.

However always keep in mind, things can change so fast, and anything can happen during this process.

NVC backlog was a mystery for us and it happened suddenly, yet ended up eating 2 months of those approvals.

And things such as AP or anything on the way can also cause a backlog.

My advice is not make firm/unchangeable wedding plans.

On another note,  I saw about 10 withdrawals in the month of September during the past week.

The same movement happened one week before August started.

My guess is they are first updating those that will not get adjudication due to being withdrawn...

So September next week??

I personally can't wait!

Overall Movement:

     June     July     Aug.    Total
02/20/18 17 39 31 87
02/21/18 72 85 186 343

02/23/18 21 56 54 131
Total 147 246 406 799

Approvals only

- dates don't appear here means possible mail only approvals. Please check your informed delivery and mailboxes timely-

     June     July     Aug.    Total
02/21/18 25 62 86 173
02/22/18 8 29 101 138
Total 33 91 187 311

----------------Monthly Updates

Overall Numbers:

(December has validation errors so the given numbers are less than actual petitions)

Hopefully it will be in Mondays mail, if not then it got delivered to someone elses box or lost between your post office and your mailbox, if lost then you have to call uscis and ask them to resend the letter otherwise you have no idea what the RFE is for I would think.. and out of curiosity did you use a lawyer to file the petition or you did it yourself?

Hi guys, quick question. I sent an inquiry to USCIS about my case. The immigration officer responded by saying that the required security check is still pending. My NOA1 is August 16th. How long will it take for my case to be approved?

No one can say for sure. It's taking about 6 months from NOA1 to 2. A little more patience and you should be notified.

I'm still confused about one thing I'm hoping you guys can help me out on. For the interview can my fiancée show my tax documents as proof I can support her or do I really have to send her bank statements and a statement from my employer? The bank statements I can do and send her pay stubs but asking my employer for a verification letter is embarassing to me, I don't know why haha.

The less you send the greater the chance you will not be approved. Error on the side of too much then not enough. You shouldn't be embarrassed. Companies do this all the time. I even created the document and just presented mine to my supervisor after explaining what it was for and she was happy to a fix her signature to the document.  Check with your Embassy to be sure you have all the documents needed for the interview.
