To slightly put my mind at ease, what would the most common causes be for people who think they made a a great submission? I submitted a "long birth certificate", lots of photos, travel evidence, engagement ring receipt, shared rental agreements etc.... Are there an small and silly things they just ask for for the sake of it?

Approvals came in the morning (a lot of them)

 

and most approvals are not updated, however most rfes are updated  so that's one reason.

 

another reason is just like @lilit829 said, they are sending rfes for even things people sent! Like letter of intent to marry, or even when the passport pictures background is not white enough or the size is not exactly 2x2 (most countries use different sizes)

 

also the new administration loves rfe, shows strictness 🤷‍♀️ Or so" they" think.

 

dont worry about it much, if it happens it happens. Rfe is not a denial, it is a good opportunity to solve problems

We have been approved!!!! NOA2 Feb 10.... Got the approval letter in the mail. No update on the uscis website or app.

Normally it is when the name on the system is changed - for example the name was written wrong.

It's not people it's uscis who makes the mistake. For example your noa1 came and the name was wrong.

 

but I confirmed a lot of cases getting approval the next day when this happens at this stage of the process

I got excited seeing all the approvals but unfortunately, i got an RFE update on my status. The bright side of it is that it's not a deny it's just going to add more time. I'll be checking the mail every day but once I send out whatever documents they need anybody know how long it takes for this extra step?

Feb 21 Request for Additional Evidence Was Mailed

It can take anywhere from a few days to 60 days (USCIS says 60 days is the max) but we don't see many people reach that 60 days.
It's more like 1-3 weeks that I have seen around here.
