now I am certain there are way more of these cases than we thought.

Sounds like staffing levels aren't keeping up with the demand.

It's been 62 days since my case was received and I'm expecting an RFE. This wait is killing me! The holidays are coming too which means things will get delayed. At least in January I will have vacation days again so I will see my fiance again.

Once you get the NOA2, the petition is forwarded to the NVC.  They review and eventually send it to the embassy.  Once you have the number that is assigned by NVC you can schedule the interview.  Keep in mind that NVC can take a month (usually 2 weeks) and your interview might not have openings for 45 to 60 days average (some as quick as 30 days).

After the successful interview it is usually a week to get your visa but can be longer depending on how you elect to receive it and how long your petition is in AP (Administrative Processing) after the interview.  Once you have the visa in hand, you are free to leave.

You pay the DS-160 fee before the interview.  In the Philippines, we can schedule online.  I'm not sure about Taiwan.

Hi @John & Rose, I filed mid Aug. and my fiancee is in the Philippines. How did you pay for your visa? Did you wait for the letter to schedule for the interview or you just called them once you had the number from the NVC? How do I get the phone number for the interview?

And since we have the same embassy, what were the questions during the interview?

what should my fiancee expect?

Thanks, we are preparing everything!

We are in the same boat. We are still waiting for our NOA2 too!!!  All of your answers are here though!!!

I sent Rose money so she can pay the DS-160 fee when she has to. She pays at the bank and just takes the receipt to the interview.

You have to to wait for the MNL# before you can schedule the interview. I am still trying to find out if we need to wait for CEAC to say ready first.  Check out any post in the Philippines forum from Hank or Greenbaum. They both have links to great information.

The questions in Manila are really straight forward and easy. Always tell the truth and only answer the wuestions. Do not volunteer more information than they ask for.

Stop by the Philippines forum.

Sure, anybody can pay for it. My now-wife's friend did it for her since she was still working in KSA at the time. As long as it is paid as required by your specific embassy.  In the Philippines it must be paid in person at a bank.  I sent my fiancee money to do this as soon as we get the tracking number from NVC.

@Wibblet - 64 days active here, buddy. Waiting for NOA2 is sucking the life out of me. Geez! It really drains the patience tank. I am also thinking about RFEs but in a way that's positive. If they can send our RFEs in the following weeks, at least we know that someone is already touching August cases which right now is still too impossible. Keep the faith, just hang in there. Our time will come.

There are a number of different ways. Sometimes you set it up with your bank in USA to her bank. Other ways are Remidity or TransFast. Search with google to reach their websites.
