Almost same yes- either you can resign the same exact one with a re confirmation or just change the address it is directed to (because now you will give it to the embassy) and sign it with a new date.

Your indeed awesome @Naes❤️ Thankie

Is that a requirement there?  It isn't everywhere.  It seems like many embassies make their own rules.

Yes it is really a requirement, once you are scheduled for interview. You have to bring one☺️

I think you misunderstood me. I am saying it is a blessing that strangers on this forum are helpful. Without them I would know nothing! My reason for saying that is, this government agency should not leave us in the dark for us to fend for ourselves on here and should be giving us answers/updates. I'm optimistic and realistic. Sometimes it's hard to make any sense or realize why we have to go through this. I so hope that this process gets better for future applicants!

Oh no no I also think this forum is amazing!

I cant thank the people in this forum enough for everything!

Maybe I wrote it wrong. I meant my lawyer is unhelpful.

And yes I agree with you. I just shared my frustrations so you wouldn’t feel like you’re the only one who was upset with the system.

Sorry for the misunderstanding! I love this forum and the helpful people in it!

Just need to rant today.

As an August 18th filer, our approval should hypothetically not be so far away, but seeing the depressing strain it's putting on relationships on here when it doesn't come and how some people end up in a black hole for hundreds of extra days has me thinking, why the heck did I even go through with this process? I guess I was uninformed going into this and I wish I found this forum sooner.

Originally, it was so my fiancee could move to the US as I have a good job, but I can live in his country legally without any visa and he's from a VWP country. I so wish I could go back in time and file for a CR1 or just simply move there. If I reach 200 days with no update (which is exactly 2 weeks from today), I may just withdrawal to take my life back into my own hands. I'm really starting to understand why I read people on here withdrawing to go down another route on June/July threads. Possibly waiting for the NOA2 for who knows how many more days, then EAD/AP possibly for over 130 days... endless AOS/ROC for years... I don't wish this process on anyone. I understand why when new users come onto this site and the seasoned members tell them the option of the fiancee moving out of the US to their significant other's country or to do CR1.

This K1 hell is going to start a new wave of illegal immigrants who are fed up with waiting hundreds of days with no answers waiting for their lives to begin. We are paying for a service that leaves us in the dark. I get more answers from strangers on a forum. This process is broken and I really hope there are efforts to improve it as soon as possible.

I am in this process for 4 years+ due to a few things.  I am doing a second K-1 for my fiance.  I am widowed, I have two younger kids with me, very stable income of comfy 6 fig + , multiple rental properties so its not easy for me to move  else I would have had moved.  I am thinking of moving now since this process is complete bull.  Due to my engagements and kids I cannot travel so easy to Pakistan to see my fiance nor she can travel on visa waiver.  Not before but now I can move out to Pakistan or Dubai for a few years.  If this trend continues we may see brain drain from the US.  USCIS needs to fix their mess and they need to do it soon.

07/27/17 - K1 packet sent at the end of day.

03/22/18 - NOA2

08/28/18 - expected date for medical completion - Sputum test was needed

Thank you for sharing your story. I really hope you are both together soon, wherever in the world it may be. It's sad to read, but a good lesson for others visiting this site to read if they think this will be an easy process. It can very easily turn into hundreds of days of a time black hole... with seemingly no one to care that you feel abandoned. We're lucky to have each other on here :(

I'm sorry. I know you will get it soon. Looks like they're mainly focusing on the first part of August, they will start with the second part in no time :)

Also, just because I'm curious - you can live in Norway without a visa? How does that work? My fiancé and I thoroughly researched the option of him coming to Sweden before we applied for the K-1. It was actually our plan A for a long time, and the only way of doing that would be by applying for a visa for him. But - and listen up anyone who is upset with the USCIS - the Swedish Migration Agency does not process applications in order. I repeat, not in order. So you can hear from them in two months, or two years, there's no logic or transparency at all as to what cases they're working on. Waiting times have gone up in the roof in recent years, so I think the average lately has been more than a year of waiting. And yes it's cheaper, and yes the foreign citizen will get a work visa right away. But it was the fact that we didn't even have one single clue what time frame to expect that eventually made us abandon that idea. As much as the K-1 process sucks, at least we can keep somewhat track here on VJ, and I'm honestly so grateful for that.

I hope you're right! Reading the countless people on here that have been waiting 230+ days with no response, along with others breaking up in the process is a reality I have to acknowledge I guess. I tend to find more comfort in worst case scenarios than being blindly positive, but maybe I need some more positivity 😭

I'm a dual US and EU country citizen so I can live in Norway/EU freely. I am already a registered resident in Norway and even have a bank account... I often wake up and have no idea why I'm here still waiting for this approval in the mail that may come next week, or in three months :( It's sad to read that the Swedish agency is just as bad!! I didn't expect that. Is that the process one goes through for a spousal visa there? Maybe it can be NYC for a bit, and Sweden in the future for you? I went to an immigration office in Norway a few times and was shocked by how well organized they were. Booking appointments online so I didn't have to waste extra time, there was an open question hour timeslot where if you had any questions for X amount of hours once per week you could speak to a real person.

Also- I so agree about the brain drain comment. You sound like a great asset to the country and they government isn't doing anything to keep you here. I am a skilled worker in my profession and offer a lot to my industry here. I am so fed up with this process, I don't feel my rights as a citizen are being respected. I can go somewhere where I am respected. We must not be alone. I bet also on the flip side, many are going to just come illegally. They are not making the legal path easy and many are desperate to be with those they love. That combination will never end up well if in the eyes of the government illegal immigration is a priority. Surely legal immigration shouldn't be impossible!

Thank you!

Well now I do too....

I honestly don’t know what to tell my fiancé of when he will be here with me. And they breaks my heart... there’s no way of knowing when I’ll get my stuff for the RFE and when I send it back and when USCIS will look at it and get an approval then the NOA2 Is not even the last step. Aghhhh it’s so draining...and depressing.

I was thinking more about your situation and calling for a Tier 2 agent tomorrow to tell them that this is a JUVENILE record may resolve the case if YOU disclosed it and they didn't realize that it was juvenile. I don't know that they can ask for those records???

I presume you've already checked it out, and not sure which county you're in, but I'm a resource hound on the web so let me know if I can help track down info for you or call around tomorrow.

I think we'll get an approval response within 2wks even though they quote 30 days. Some come within days of sending a response back. Don't stress on that point so much!!!

Keep your head up and good luck tomorrow. Offers open if I can help navigate the system (worked in Washoe county courts so I know those best)!!

Xoxo

Funny, was just looking up Clark County so here's some info: Juvenile Records.   Questions regarding juvenile records can be answered by calling (702) 455-5220. The Juvenile Records Unit is located at 2980 Meade Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89102.

You can quote/reference "NRS 62H.025, Section J" which entitles you to a copy of your records (https://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-062H.html#NRS062HSec025)

Tell them that it's urgent for an "international visa process" and you have only a few days to respond (sorry but we are in a position to fib a little and that's how I got mine by email same day vs. 2wks waiting by mail)! ;)

You can call NVC after 2 weeks (not business days but calendar days). If you wait for a month they will probably send you the mail before you call them.

so basically noa2 14 can start calling about 24th to 28th

@Naes so they will also send notice through mail? To who? Petitoner or Beneficiary?

once forwarded to US Embassy, they are the one who will send notification also right to the Beneficiary am I right?

thanks

Not sure about Step 9 though. It can be different in your Country. Here we have to schedule the interview online by ourselves depending on avaialble vacant dates.

Wow you’re so resourceful! Yes so that address on Mead is where I went today first and they gave me a organic paper that said I have no record and hand wrote my name and birthday... but it’s not enough, I need that paper certified and court stamped which they don’t do so they sent me to juvenile family services downtown to they’re record department, which sent me to juvenile intake, which sent me to get a new number to wait for the court clerk - but the guy at the desk said I do need records and I should’ve asked for a supervisor .. so a lot of back and forth .. tomorrow I am going back.

Its funny we think the USCIS is the only department who is not reliable, I learned that was wrong today. Haha.
