Hello @Naes,

Do you think that the Christmas/New year's holidays where senior adjudicators may have taken vacation time could have caused the May/June bottleneck? Maybe, now that the holidays are over the process will go quicker?

Monday is another holiday on the 19th 😭

Hello all August fillers! Congratulations for all who got approved!!🎉

I have question: does anyone know  how long our petition can stay in embassy before interview? I am August 7 filler, still waiting for approval. But I am also working by contracts and just got offer for a job for 6 months, starting immediately.

Thank you in advance

Hello, congrats on the new job offer!

Each embassy is different. For example, after our embassy gets our case it takes 2 months on average for an interview. Other embassies may schedule within 2-3 weeks. If you go into the embassy reviews on this website and look up the embassy for your country you can get an idea of how long it would take from them receiving the case to interview. Also, you can always ask the embassy for another interview date if you would prefer, they usually accommodate.

Keep in mind, once the case is approved (after the interview) its valid for six months. Meaning, you have six months to use the visa to travel to the US. Obviously once you come here, then the 90 day countdown begins but the visa itself is valid for six months after approval (anyone correct me if I'm wrong).

Hope this helped! Good luck!

I'm the USC.  I don't believe that having the background check should be a negative to me.  It wasn't about weapons or anything fun.  It was for transportation infrastructure and access to millions of credit cards.  It sounds so boring that way!!!  I wish it was something more interesting.  I am trying so hard to figure out why this is happening.  I am completely clueless.  Rose and her family are pillars of the community.  Her uncle is running for the president of their village.  Her kids are at the top of their classes in school.  I am a boring person with a job in transportation and utilities.  No records and I own guns.  I would hope that they wouldn't allow me to own a gun if they felt I was some kind of risk.  The background check for me to buy a semi-automatic assault rifle takes about 2 minutes tops.  That is how long it takes USCIS to do their background checks too.

Darn, was hoping it was at least something classified or top secret like former CIA.

So after calling and getting the June 27 lie from USCIS yesterday I called my senators office and told her how up to Aug 15 they have approvals. She said she usually advices to stay awar from forums like that (i didnt mention forums but she knows i guess :jest:) She got in contact with them to ask if they really in august.  I also asked her about my address change since my previous Inquiries ended up on the wrong place. This is what she emailed me back:

This is really weird, because we called on January 29 and were told it had been touching))) June 27! :P

I counted back then that it'd be at least 7 months (not less) for me to wait since the call. Imagine, how happy I was to find out someone from August got approved!

So, I counted once more that it took them 2 weeks to do 6 weeks! Hahahha...

Be aware, your medical needs to be valid too! Your medical is usually valid for 3 to 6 months, depending on your health. If you have the medical 2 months before the interview you could only have 4 months left on the visa.

LOL yess... I'm sure I proved to my senators that they are lying now too...

But do you have any idea when I should receive the noa2 now after they said it's being adjudicated?
