Hello guys, USCIS received our case and provided NOA1 for K-1 on August 7, 2017.

My question is we were together for short period of time like a month and then I had to come back to my country. After 7-8 months we applied for the K-1. So, do you guys think I should go and visit? Stay there for a while?

Thank you for all the feedback in advance.

Wish all you good luck

More time together in person is never a bad thing! If you update your timeline then we can see what country you are from and offer more specific advice. Some countries will be fine with you just meeting the minimum requirement of having met in person in the last 2 years. Other countries like Morocco, Iran etc. can be notoriously more difficult and so the more visits the better.

Hopefully we both get it in December or sooner! The VJ timeline estimate keeps pushing us back! :(

Yea, I've noticed... It looks like they should be done with April soon though, and last year in September and October approvals took waaaaayyyy less, so I'm hoping they'll catch up! :)

We'll see how it goes. I'm still hoping for December! :D

I did. I am from Turkey. We putted Ankara, Turkey as where I will attend for the visa interview on the initial form I-129F.

Thank you!

We used Ankara, Turkey as consulate. Don't you think me being there during this process will cause complications? Also, with my B1/B2 tourist visa, what I am going to tell at the port of entry? Visiting my fiancé?

Thank you!

Ah, sorry. I thought you were the petitioner. Either way, more visits definitely help. Turkey isn't the hardest embassy (by far), but it's no walk in the park either.

Visiting while you have a pending petition or visa application sets a higher bar to show that you will return home after entry. Many people do this every day and it's perfectly legal, but you would need to carry evidence of your intent to return home. It's a bit risky IMHO and comes down to your ties to Turkey, when you last visited and how long you stayed, etc. Being in the US during the processing won't complicate things...you just need to return back to do the medical and interview (and possibly to get the police certs and such as necessary).

That response is fine - just be honest. You don't need to disclose anything unless asked, but they almost certainly will ask your purpose and who you will visit.

Thank you for your quick response, I really appreciated.

I only thought about visiting because it would give us more success chance on getting the visa. I am assuming they will be asking the times we have seen each other in person during interview.
