I'm sorry my one innocuous comment amongst a heartfelt message somehow derailed this entire thread! :(

Let's get back to some positivity and waiting for those approvals to come through!

I'm not sure it was you (I'm thinking of a different user in regards to my post), but I haven't had time to fully look through everything :)

Either way.... Hope everyone has a good day. It'll be nice to forget the last few pages imo

Sometimes I feel so helpless as we wait...but I try instead to think about things we CAN do to be ready not only for the visa process but after the visa process as we integrate our lives together. I've been following the thoughts some of you are sharing regarding your beneficiary & their challenges of integration into American life!  These ideas are things I've talked about with my fiance too!  I thought I'd share a couple practical ideas we are going to try when he arrives.  Anyone have more ideas they can share? Thanks! :)

*thank God for Skype/Messenger etc so we can stay in touch with family in other countries :)

*He is going to bring pictures of his family so we can frame them in our home and remind him of loved ones

*Since he will be moving into my home, when we get married we will move every single thing out of the bedroom and then "move in" to that room together so it doesn't feel like he's joining my already established life but in this small way, we're moving in together to a new place.  Or any room that works for you.

*Aromas, food from home (candles, incense, things to burn on the stove)

*We found his local radio station on Alexa so he can listen to that every day when he's here and know what's going on there

*Found local mosques, coffee shops, the Arab part of town so he knows where to go

I also found this article(s): https://www.thespruce.com/effects-of-moving-to-a-new-country-2436102

I especially love the idea of moving out and then moving into the room together. I still live in the house that my ex husband and I lived and I worried that my SO would feel weird because if it. He says it doesn’t bother him so I think I’m maybe more weirded out than he is!!!  We have great renovation plans in the works but you offer a great suggestion in the meantime.

I have a tiny apartment that is basically a studio.  I have a bed. a sectional and a small dining table.  I don't even have a separate bed for when my son sleeps over.  Since my fiancé will not be able to work in the beginning, he will do the apartment hunting.  I'll even let him use the car.  It will give him something to do and it will be fun to choose a home together.  We'll take my son with us and it can be a bonding thing to find a place and then furnish it.  The first thing we will buy will be another bed!  All three of us are excited...

I was so excited on Monday when August "started" but yesterday and now today not a peep.....so frustrated! I was speculating to get an approval by Friday based on august  "starting" 2 days ago. Guess it was one of those October November type approvals ....out of month order.
