Since Los Angeles is a big city, the advantage of being from LA is the press coverage. NBC did an investigative report through NBR about the 400 processing times in LA, it used to be about 5 to 7 months, now it is 10 months due to the fear of Trump administration's anti immigration stance prior and after the 2016 election which caused a huge surge, KPCC actually reached out to USCIS and they were put on the spot and was kind of forced to go on record by saying they have been trying hard to fix the backlog, so I guess they USCIS would like to avoid negative press coverage and it might benefit people who live in LA. We will see.

Yes, my 400 is probably going to be processed in the one in downtown LA. 5 more months for me and good luck with everyone who has been waiting.

as long as some SF online filers received interview scheduled notification, that's a good news because it will eventually get to paper filers.  I thought the delay was due to California being a sanctuary state, if it was some form of punishment or something..

Excuse me for not wanting to look back through this whole thread, but I recall someone saying there's a number to call when you've been "in line for interview" for more than 90 days?

 

Anyone know the details of this?

 

My wife got her in line for interview notice back on September 20th, and we've received no updates since.

I am not sure where you heard about this 90 days thing, but I don't think you can do anything to expedite the interview scheduling process. I see majority of people in line for more than 90 days, some more than 6 months.

If you want to ask for status, infopass is your only option. Like @qaszxc1234 said, you'd probably be wasting your time since 90 is is totally normal. It's for you to decide if it is pointless or not.

I also applied on August and my feild office is San fernando valley, they received my application on Aug 21th 2017. 

I was finished with my biometrics by Sep 11th 1017. I have been in line for interview since then. How long is it going to take to get an interview notice? I'm getting really impatient with this long process. I didn't file online, that's probably the reason it's taking so long. what do you think? please share your thoughts.

Yes, not filing online is making the process take longer. That's not surprising with the amount of overhead that is removed when there's no paper to move around! 

There are status tables in this thread and all of the other case filing reports thread, you can get a good idea of the average time it will take for your office with those. You can also use some of the VisaJourney tools to look at that as well, though they're a bit convoluted and not very user friendly.
