How was the interview?

Was just about to post about it.  So when we got to appt. asked for my 551 stamp.  They kept my GC, and gave me a stamp for one year.  Needed the stamp for work.  They called for N-400 interview first.  Asked me 7 Questions, I missed one.  I had read The Capital is in Washington DC, and I had to write a sentence about george Washington.  Gave me a form about why they took my GC, and the letter saying decision could not be made.  Explained need to process I-751, but will change over to oath ceremony later.  Had me go back to waiting room because she had someone to interview next.  Then after 30 mins called us in together for I-751 interview.  IO swore us in, and asked questions from the app about names, address, have we moved, ever lived seperate, been out of the country, how did we meet, when did we get engaged, what date did we get married and where.  IO then looked documents and all we sent in including pictures.  We sent in documents since we got married in 2012.  We gave additional info since filing in 2016.  IO reviewed the new documents and looked at all bank statements and bills and looked for bills on bank statements.  In between questions clicked on the computer, then she typed some stuff in.  She then pulled out the approval letter and stamped.  She then told us we are approved to remove conditions and told us that we will not be receiving the 10 yr card in the mail due to citizenship.

Do they really schedule the interviews by the order they received our papers? I mean there are people still in line for interview since last April !! Not sure how it works...

Also i am a paper filer, do i get an email/text message when my interview is scheduled? or I just get a letter in mail?  My status says in line for interview...

I do not know how to do the timeline.  I will just post it here.

I mailed my N 400 application to the Phoenix , Arizona box on May 5, 2017 and they received it on May 23, 2017.  Approved it May 25.  I received a letter in the mail for a biometrics schedule  which was June 12.   From June 12 I waited but it did not dampen my spirits.  I just kept myself busy and not thinking about it but practice on the questionaires for the interview.  Then on Sept. 19 I got a letter in the mail for the interview date which was Oct. 23 and I passed it and  was approved.  I got the letter for the Oath Taking Ceremony on Nov. 1, 2017.  Since I did not file electronically I created an account on the USCIS website which you can also do.  That is where I check my status.  And while waiting you can study for the interview too.  There are study questions on the USCIS website.

I’m so confused. You filed in september? But you just posted a huge blurb about filing in may, regardless of who it was directed to?

I believe you will get an update through texting just like the "in line for an interview: notification. Los Angeles here too. At least Los Angeles seems to be moving every month so far, they are now processing Feb's applications, I would say another 6 or 7 months around next May or June. Fingers crossed.

You did nothing wrong, there are no rules that say you can't make comments here even if you are not an August filer, but you are technically an August filer anyway because you filed in late August. There's always hostility in a forum like this for no reason, it is outrageous that you are told not to ask questions. I for one welcome you to make comments here. You are cool. Ignore the users who show hostility, I think it is the best way. I also don't know why anyone would show hostility especially if someone here has been approved, that boggles my mind.

It beats me, I was merely responding to CaliforniaWife. I was being supportive of CaliforniaWife. So let's get back to the 400 discussion if you will. You passed the interview, you must be very excited!:). Good for you. So you are approved, and you will get your oath letter by next Feb according to the estimated time case completion? Correct?

I thought you were referring to me. Somebody posted a text version of their timeline, or a timeline update (that's common, not everyone is comfortable copy/pasting and editing the timeline chart) but it said they filed in May. That's why I said it was in the wrong thread. But apparently that wasn't an update so much as a general comment that REALLY looked like an update in the wrong thread. So you probably were referring to me, but even then... I'm not sure who was being hostile because it definitely was not me. I was being helpful by pointing out it was in the wrong place.

Excited? Meh. I don't even want citizenship. I'm only getting it so I can get the hell out of the US without having to abandon my green card in case I ever have to move back. As for timeline, from what I've seen after looking through a few case status report threads is that the oath date is usually assigned about two weeks after the interview (if approval was given on the spot), and then usually about a month after that is the oath. So considering there are three federal holidays in the next two months (thanksgiving, christmas, and new years) I'm expecting the oath date to be sometime in the first half of january.
