I'm going to echo the sentiment that most paper filers feel, I wish I had filed online. My friend who filed online on 09/16, ten days after me, has an interview scheduled on 12/12. We are both in Los Angeles filing under the 5-year residency. The only reason I can think of why his application was processed faster is because his GC year is 2011 while mine is 2012. I'm hoping that the USCIS gods will schedule me for an interview soon just like my friend but it looks like LA paper filers have been stuck in "in line" for at least 3 months before actually getting an interview date. Actually, some who have applied since February still don't have an interview scheduled. The only consolation I see from this is knowing that at least, LA field office processing is moving.

I'm a paper filer. and submitted or sent my papers August 9, 2017. and just had my interview this Monday 11/06/2017.

so I was thinking it depends on which Field Office you submitted your application. I sent my Application to TX field office.

There seems to be one filer from Hawaii who was a paper filer and is scheduled for an interview akin to the timeline of the online filers although I'm sure it's very dependent on the field office backlogs. I guess we'll get a better sense as more paper filers start to hear about their interview dates. That's a shame about maybe not even hearing about the interview date until February or March. I got excited that it could be quicker than that. I wish I had filed online. I think at the time the only info I was seeing about it was that it was potentially glitchy, which is why I filed the paper route. Ah well, I'm going to try not to think about it until a letter arrives in the mailbox.

Maybe depends on which field office you sent your Paper Application cuz I sent mine to TX.

Just keep on praying. who know's tomorrow you'll receive your letter of appointment.
