you actually do get an in line text or notification... but mines been messed up, no notification or change in status since the first one saying they received my case :( Just had my biometrics but expecting a letter giving an interview date, whenever that may be...

You could be waiting a long time. The biggest gap in the process is between biometrics and interview. Could be days, weeks or months. No way of knowing.

Yeah, I know... I will be waiting for almost 4 months till I get the interview letter giving me a date for a month later. The total time it takes for my office from receiving documents to the interview date is 6 months approximately. I will only start panicking after 4 months from the fingerprints date hehe

I applied for N400 in August 2017 (paper), filed I-751 June 2016. Nothing has happpend to either case so far except biometrics a few weeks after filing each. There are still several other June 2016 I-751 filers waiting for approval, so no idea whether the N400 has held my I-751 up or it's just normal slow processing. I'll let you know if my I-751 gets approved. I filed a service request a few days ago, since it is outside the CSC processing time now, but haven't heard back on that (was given Oct 5th as date to hear by). But I figured it's just one long waiting game, and the sooner I filed the N400 the sooner it will all be done with. And I have the extension stamp now anyway, good for another 10 month. And when I had an info-pass appointment to get the green card extension stamp in July, the officer told me I should file N400 once eligible, so I get in line for that, as Denver has very long N400 processing times (according to their website, currently processing Oct 2016 N400).

Thanks for your response. My I-751 date is 07/01/16 so I am not that far away from June filers and sailing in the same boat as you are. In July forum, our experience is that no N-400 applicant is approved in the 30% approved cases. I am hopeful that we will hear something soon either from I-751 or N-400.  Glad to have someone to compare notes.

Question re the interview letter: I'm applying for naturalization based on 5-year residency. In my interview letter, below where it states the items you must bring, it says that IF APPLYING FOR NATURALIZATION AS THE POUSE OF A UNITED STATES CITIZEN you must bring so and so. So my question is, did everyone else have that information in their letter?

Yes it's a standard letter they use.

Since you applied under the 5-year rule, that part doesn't apply to you.

My husband has his interview tomorrow. I was just checking his account today and saw this

I do not see anything regarding any RFE on the online account. Did anyone come across this?

I’m a September filer and received notice that an interview was scheduled on Friday. My interview letter was uploaded yesterday and that also showed up, different number though. I’m not sure what RFE stands for but it seems like a count down. Probably something new when they upgraded the website?

RFE stands for Request For Evidence. And i am guessing the countdown is for the interview as i do not see anything else for the RFE. Is your number almost same as the number of days to the interview?

Yes, my interview is November 3 so it showed 31 days yesterday.

Wow! Congratulations @cj777 and @Jesse28

That was quick interview scheduling.

I applied online too on August 7 and have been in-line for interview for more than a month. No update yet after "USCIS has scheduled your interview and will mail you the notice". I've been following this forum and it looks like the even though we file online, the actual interview scheduling depends on the final field office workload. Looks like Dallas, TX is the fastest among interview scheduling.

My current status is reverted back to "We're reviewed your bio-metrics" after the website design.

Where are the online Seattle filers? Anybody else interview scheduled faster after filing online in Seattle? :)

Wow that's fast @cj777 and @Jesse28 for an interview already! I have to admit I'm super jealous. I have a feeling we're not going to hear anything until maybe January. Good luck to you both!

I called the help line to ask because my husband had biometrics done on Sept 8 but there was no change from his online status of "Your Case has been received". We never got an email or other notification that the biometrics had been received, although we have that paper from biometrics with the stamp on it. Anyway, she said that that's normal because they never update people after biometrics and that the next we'll hear is when we get the letter for the interview. That seemed strange to me because people on here got notification that they're biometrics had been received and their statuses changed. I wonder if that's a quirk of the online filing system and because we were paper filers we don't get notified of those steps?

8/8/17: Mailed N-400 Naturalization Application

8/15/17: USCIS texted that they've received N-400

9/8/17: Scheduled for biometrics

10/11/17: In Line to be Scheduled for N-400 Interview
6/23/18: N400 Interview (recommended for approval pending I751)

8/1/18: I751 Interview - approved

Oh, the help line person also said that if you have a pending I-751 it could slow down the N-400 because the N-400 can't be approved until the I-751 is. This was also confusing to me because I always thought the process was the N-400 would continue processing as usual and when they are ready to decide on that one or interview the applicant then they pull up the I-751 at that time and decide on that too if it hadn't been approved. So, hopefully she was wrong about that! I-751s at CSC are so slow.

Yes, if you didn't file online your status updates are going to be much less granular.

I just noticed today that my "Current Status" updated date changed from August 30, 2017 to August 15, 2017.

August 15, 2017 was the date I appeared for my biometrics and the status was changed to "We Reviewed your Biometrics".

August 30, 2017 was the date the status changed to "We have scheduled your interview and will mail you notice" before the website update.

I just noticed that today, the current status date was reverted back to "August 15". Has anyone else seen this change in their status or is it just me?
