today i had my Biometrics done at the philadelphia downtown USCIS it took me less than 15 minutes(security check/signing in/biometrics appt)..Good that i went on the  appointment date instead of an early walk in ..the guy in front of me was sent back

I'd assume USCIS may return your application if you're trying to change your name to something offensive (illegal names?).  :huh2:  Other than that, I'm not sure if it delays your application.  :wacko:  

 

Are there any extra steps you have to take if you're changing your name?  :reading:  I thought they'd just give you a citizenship certificate under your new name and that's it (so you can go to DMV to update your driver's license)?  :huh2:

So again, clueless if that means anything (and it probably doesn't mean much), but curious if other people had phantom date updates.

Same here with almost the same dates.  My case has been updated twice.  The last time it got updated on 9/14/17, I received the email that we are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time.  The second time it updated on 9/16/17, I did not get an email.  

 

Previously when it updated about a week later I got the notice in my inbox or my status changed.  We shall see.

I just came back from my biometrics appointment (no walk-in) at the Seattle field office.  :star:

 

I thought I'd be there with few people, but there were A LOT OF people for their biometrics appointments!  :wow:

 

I'm not sure if the Seattle office does biometrics on Fridays, but I was there at 11am and my number was 180!  :wow:  I was there for 30-40 minutes.  :no:

 

Anyway, they took my photo and fingerprints (both hands).  :yes:  They gave me the study guide of "Learn About the United States: Quick Civics Lessons for the Naturalization Test". :dancing:  Well, a waiting game (for the next 5-6 months?) starts now!  :clock:
