I just need to keep waiting and pray my spouse's health will continue in a stable fashion. We will see.

You might be able to contact your congressperson or senator to expedite your application if your spouse has a medical condition.

I hope your application gets processed fast!  :dancing:  At least faster than mine since you applied before I did (but...it may depend on how busy our field offices are)!

Thanks for the wish. The thing is my spouse doesn't have a terminal illness, and my request is personal, so maybe it won't work, but it would not hurt to try. Fingers crossed to all if us, I would like to vote next year too. I think we will probably be 751 approved by December..let's hope.

OK I know this is completely off topic but it got me thinking: since Trump rescinded DACA and now congress has 6 months to pass legislation, do you think this will slow down the citizenship process for those already waiting? Since many of those 800,000 people will likely start applying for citizenship ASAP?

By the way, i'm not trying to start a political debate. I'm trying to remain neutral in this forum, really just simply asking a question out of curiosity how it will affect the citizenship process for those who already have pending N-400s

Those with DACA cannot apply for citizenship, DACA does not give them a green card only a work/study permit so they have no basis on which to get citizenship.

That being said there might be a slow down as those DACA recipients with cards expiring in the next six months all applying for a renewal as they as being allowed to do so and get the full two years permit.

I agree that it might affect the processing timeline of N-400 applications if more DACA applicants are renewing their work permits unless USCIS adds more employees.

When I was applying for I-130 in 2014, USCIS had to allocate their limited resource to process DACA applications so it doubled/delayed my spousal visa processing timeline, unfortunately!

Same thing happened to my hubby which is why I asked about it. We applied for our I-130 in early 2013 and didn't get his conditional GC till late 2014 because DACA was given #1 priority  (and we were separated from each other the entire time)...hoping the same thing won't happen again

You applied for I-130 in early 2013 and got your Green Card in late 2014!?  :wow:  That's almost two years!

Mine took 13 months!  :bonk:  I initially thought it was going to get processed in 6 months!

Let's hope it won't happen again this time!  :star:  But...I've been unlucky when it comes to the US immigration process so I won't be surprised if my application gets delayed again!  :dead:
