N-400 August 2017 Filers

Has anybody had any trouble filing their N-400 online? It seems like each time I upload my supporting documents, they all get duplicated and when I try to delete them and reupload, it just piles up and duplicates even more. I click on Save Evidence button and it says it is saving responses, but when I go to review documents, it is all the same duplicates files. It is frustrating to reupload files and getting them incorrectly in the Review section.

This happens a lot.  The way I look at it, as long as the documents get attached in the end, that's all that matters.  My GC uploaded a total of 3 times, my passport 2 times, my marriage certificate 6 times.

 

If filed online in July (you can see my timeline below in green), but sometimes check other filer threads to compare notes and came across your question

- e-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance (G-1145 - No Expiration Date)

- Authorization for Credit Card Transactions (G-1450 - Expires on 08/31/2018)

- Cover Letter (reminding that I'm applying under the eligibility of Part 1.B., and attaching a copy of my I-551 extension and expired 2-year Green Card since my I-751 application is still pending at CSC)

- Application for Naturalization (N-400 - Expires on 03/31/2019)

- Document Checklist (M-477 - No Expiration Date)

- I-551 Extension

- Expired 2-Year Green Card (both sides)

- Applicant Passport (not necessary but just in case)

- Marriage Certificate 

- Spouse (USC) Passport

- Tax Return Transcripts (2014, 2015, and 2016)

- Joint Bank Statement

- Joint Condo Ownership Certificate

Thank you! I would love to have them just duplicated, but also in my case, my tax returns get uploaded incorrectly. After uploading my last 3 years of tax returns, the Review section only shows duplicate ones of the most recent year. I am giving up and is already debating on filing it by mail.

A trick to get around that, that has worked for others---is upload the two other years under the "additional evidence" section.

Wow. Just now compleated biometrics appointment and after 5 minutes I got a couple of message/emails saying case status updated and when I logged in to myUSCIS account it is showing interview scheduled.

I've mentioned this earlier in the post, but this happened to me as well and I found a way around it. Hopefully it works for you too.

 

1. Instead of drag-and-drop, I used the "choose file to upload" link/button (I forget the exact wording).

2. I chose only one file at a time.

3. I clicked on a different section (either going forward or backwards in the application, doesn't matter)

4. I returned to the evidence section to verify the file was uploaded w/o duplicates (worked every time for me)

5. Repeat from step 1 above..

 

I think their system gets messed up when you upload in batches. Hopefully the solution above works for you as well.

There is another thing we can do we can complete the application without attaching any evidences docs and once we are done with submitting we can go to evidence tab and upload whatever we want to that won't create any duplicates. this works absolutely fine.

We sent in N-400 last Wednesday (was supposed to arrive Friday but didn't arrive till Monday @ 5AM according to tracking info) and check still hasn't been cashed (yes, I know 1 day is nothing). Anyone know how long check takes to clear on average?

Yes. This is literally the reason we have a tracking list for every month.

Int Ltr: Date you received the official letter in the mail regarding interview.
Interview: Date of your interview.
Oath: Date Oath taken.
