I-601 and I 212 Filed on December 26 2016 and still waiting....this is an agony....so frustrating!

@Lucy I hope you hear something soon. My husband's case is in Mexico. Our date was originally Dec 23, 2016, but it wasn't accepted until January 20, 2017. We finally received approval  March of this year and were given instructions on April 3. Unfortunately the consulate for his second interview only had appointments for August... however I was able to call and find an opening in June from someone else's previous cancellation... So we are much more relieved. I hope you hear something soon. I know the agony and pain all of the waiting can cause.

Thank you!!! I am very happy to hear that your husband is almost here. No, we haven't heard anything yet, supposedly the updates are done on the 15th day of each month, but their system is just advancing i day at a time, I checked their case processing time today and it reads November 7. So sad!

@Lucy Marrero the date there is not the processing time date is a date to make a case inquiry because the time range is 13.5 to 18 months and if you calculate from the date there to now its even more than 18 months which will be more than the processing time so then you make a case inquiry about your case if you from that date and still haven’t hear from that. That is my understanding can someone also help if am wrong thanks

Has there been any February 2017 receipt date approvals yet? Mine is June 2017, i got about 6-7 months more to go. Congrats to all recent approvals, I can only imagine all the joy. ^_^

I haven't seen any February 2017 reciept dates approved yet.  I'm waiting on March 2017.  I'll keep you posted if I hear anything.

Yes, that is how is supposed to be, unfortunately, when I tried doing the case inquiry, this the message I got:  "Your application or petition is currently within the posted processing times. An inquiry may not be created at this time. Further information about recent processing times can be viewed on the uscis.gov webpage." and I did it today again.... According to what I see, their time range calculation is wrong or inaccurate. I am just taking it day by day. Very Frustrating!

Just FYI - They have transferred some of the I-601a cases to Potomac Service Center!  Hopefully this helps get some of the backlog addressed and we see some progress in processing times (even if it's just a little - every day shaved off is a good one!).  Also, those with 601a apps in may want to check if they are part of the case file transfer.

That is good they are transferring cases to help speed up the cases but what they needed to transfer is the I-601 and not I-601a because the 601a spouses are already here in the U.S......

Best of luck to all though.

I totally agree - the way that the 601a is both cheaper (by $300) and prioritized for processing when they are the ones who actually get to be with their families is a very sensitive and sore subject for me.  I think it is positively ridiculous.  I'm not upset with the people who have to file the 601a, great for them! But the way the Gov't has set that up is a slap in the face to those who have to file a standard 601.  Unfortunately we can't change that one.  I'm just glad that they have done SOMETHING!  It's the same dept at NSC that processes 601s and 601a waivers, so at least the overall load on the dept is now a little bit lightened. I'm hoping that has a positive effect on the processing of the 601s.  I figure some movement to address the backlog is better than no movement!

Also - just a btw/fyi - I've been tracking cases from Dec 16 forward - they still have a bit in Dec 16 that don't have any movement (and a high load of submissions), January 17 has a significantly lower number of submissions - and many/most were rejected for wrong fee.  Some have RFEs already - so something in Jan is being worked a bit.  Feb has smaller number of submissions as well and again, many rejected for fee issues and I also found 3 Feb 2017 cases that had RFEs sent this April.  Nothing in March yet.  IDK how they say "processed in the order recv'd" with so much variance in months that have movement - but I also don't know what might be holding up some of the cases that don't show movement - they may still be in background checks or something (being worked but not at a point that would trigger a status change).  But it was still encouraging to see that once they get through Dec we should see some substantial progress for the early 2017 cases (I'm Oct 2017 so I still have a bit to go) and if this move of 601a cases helps also - they just might get to the 2017 cases a little bit faster than they have been.  I can hope anyway!  Anything to help cope with the distance and waiting, right?

I totally agree with you. I am in this situation and this is second time for us filing waiver i601 and i212. It is very frustrating and doesn’t make sense that my child has to wait longer to see her dad and for people with i601 a only takes 4-6 months. What happened to seeing families being together. I601 should have been a shorter process. I wish the government could listen to our pain.
