Requested documents were online DS260, Medical exam, police certificate, 2 2x2 photographs.   2nd interview:  they just asked for the documents and didn't ask any questions.  And they handed my husband a form with address where he can pick up his passport with visa and a date it will be ready.  There was also a form regarding information about paying the Immigrant Fee $220 online for Green card to be mailed.  We also received an email that his passport was ready for pickup a few days after 2nd interview.

@William & Anne Ma Thanks for posting this! I am hoping, with my husband's I601 being approved on Mar 23, that we will receive something soon from the Mexican Consulate. It seems like since your I-601 was approved, that the rest of the process has gone pretty quickly... Is that right? I am so hoping ours goes fast... I just want my husband home so he can see his daughter graduate from high school. The process has taken so much longer than we ever imagined. Again though, thanks for posting what you have experienced. It has helped me prepare for ours as well.

@D2theani and @William & Anne Ma We have not received instructions yet. We are waiting anxiously. Montreal Consulate is who we are waiting on. Our visa status still shows 'Administrative Processing'. It gets really tough at this point when we have waited for years already.

@MansiB I hope you have heard some better news since your last post. We haven't heard anything either (approval date March 23). It really is both exciting and difficult for these final steps to be reunited with the ones we love...

I-601 waiver approved March 23, 2018....

U.S Consulate instruction email received April 3, 2018..... (said to resubmit DS-260, Medical and Police report... No need for appointment, just do a walk in with copy of email from consulate)

@Franco007 Thanks for sharing! I am so hoping we receive our letter from the consulate soon. Congrats on the next phase of your process!

@D2theani We are still waiting for instructions. Waiver was approved Feb 26, 2018 and the consulate confirmed. NVC status shows 'Administrative Processing' and the last update date of March 8, 2018. It's really frustrating at this point. Was there anything else we are supposed to do, in regards to setting up the infopass appointment? I did not do anything because we did not receive any instructions yet.

@MansiB If you don't mind me asking, what consulate/embassy is your case being sent to? Was your interview in Mexico?

Are there other people who have their cases being processed in Mexico and have already received approval for the I-601? It is my understanding that once the Nebraska Service Center gives out the I-601 approval, that the case is then put in the hands of the US embassy or consulate in which your interview took place and we no longer are waiting on USCIS. Does anyone know if that is correct?

Yes that is correct, because the notice will be sent to the consulate as well and they will be the one to send out further instructions on what they expect you to do next.
