Yes they have explained this in the USCIS website. It is confusing that initially this new system was only meant for I-90, I-485, I-751 and N-400. But now it seems the entire method of calculating processing times is changed. It also indicates on USCIS website that the first number - which is 13.5 months is the median that means its the time it takes to complete 50% of the case. The second number is the time it takes complete 93% of the case.

So if you are in your 18th month right now, it is very likely that you are among the remaining 7% of the people who are still to hear from them. This is taking us forever to be with our loved ones. It is sad that now we are also been forced not to request USCIS to ask about our current cases to see where do they stand as of now.

@Franco007 Yes I understand the chart that was previously on their website. However the new format of the website doesn't give you really any indication of where they stand... "13.5 to 18 month processing time for I-601". That really is frustrating...

Yeah i know it is frustrating, that is why you need to get an infopass appointment from time to time.

Hi everyone

Someone who has been through their second interview after approval of I 601 What was it like what other documents you needed to bring how they requested and so forth?  Our Case was received November 2017 and I know we have a long way to to go but just would like to hear from others how their case went.

Thank you

Why is the info pass appointment needed time to time?

For me i used that to know where my case stands and makes them look at your file from time to time too..... Each time i go i make sure the immigration services officer sends an email to Nebraska that i came to check on my case and next time i go the officer looks at my case and states that it showed that someone looked at my file after my last visit. I try to make the appointment once every 3months.

@William & Anne Ma Our 601 was approved on March 23! (Receipt date was January 20, 2017). I have been following your messages since you were approved. If you don't mind me asking, has anything happened since you received instructions after your 601 approval?

Congrats!!!!  So happy for you and family.  Yes, we received instructions a few days after approval notice.  We gathered all listed in instructions, made appointment at embassy and everything went well, husband picked up passport a few days later, and he will be home next week!!!!!!!!

Requested documents were online DS260, Medical exam, police certificate, 2 2x2 photographs.   2nd interview:  they just asked for the documents and didn't ask any questions.  And they handed my husband a form with address where he can pick up his passport with visa and a date it will be ready.  There was also a form regarding information about paying the Immigrant Fee $220 online for Green card to be mailed.  We also received an email that his passport was ready for pickup a few days after 2nd interview.
