I was approved on 8/21 and the hard copy is coming in the mail today, should I at some point see another update about it being sent to NVC or is that one of those things you may or may not get an update for?

I'm just trying to estimate when I should call, the earliest I'm thinking is Sept 1st.

I'm just trying to estimate when I should call, the earliest I'm thinking is Sept 1st.

My actual approval date was 5/6. I received the notice via snail mail 5/12.. The system updated on 5/18 showing it was sent to NVC and they actually received it at the NVC on 5/23. No need to call and confirm they sent it as you should get an update.

I would call NVC after about a week after the system shows you it was sent to NVC to confirm they received it.

Not yet. I called yesterday and was told it's in the review department. I'm hoping by early next week I'll have a CC!

For some reason, Central American countries take much longer to review/approve. Don't ask me why. Fortunately, I have not seen that the DR follows that same timeline and usually get CC's much quicker :)

Thanks that's helpful, so its still a waiting game, but at least it was approved.

Gives us time to get all our papers together.

Exactly :) This process is nothing but a waiting game. Get your patience ready lol. You're going to need just a bit more to get through the rest of this ;) At least you'll feel like you're accomplishing something and it moves quicker here than it did at USCIS. Good luck!

Yes! If I get mine by next week, hopefully that'll be perfect timing for an October interview! We're hoping he'll be here before my birthday at the end of October!

That's the timeline they give you. The average is typically less depending on your country. There's a spreadsheet you can look at and filter it by your country that's been filled out by VJ members. You can see the average number of weeks it takes from Scan Date to CC.

NVC Case Status Spread Sheet - 2017

Looks like from your profile your country is Mexico. On the spreadsheet, the average time for a CC for Mexico (not including checklist delays) is around 9.5 weeks. That's 9.5 weeks from the scan date (the date they receive the document package you're going to mail in).

I finally got my case number today over the phone.  They said they mailed a letter to me.  I did not get it just yet but I have them both my husband's email along with my own so they could send it that way as well.   One step closer! :jest:

They gave you the invoice number? If they did you can try logging on your ceac account and see if it lets you do the agent part and maybe the AOS fee.
