Just saw your timeline, it's going to take about 10 days to get your welcome letter after they confirmed receipt of your documents. Not sure why they told you it's been sent already.  I posted earlier my timeline from leaving uscis. Please review it.

Get used to it, in some ways the NVC is worse than USIC. With USCIS it is just a big black box and you know you will be waiting for quite a while. With NVC it is a series of little black boxes, and every one of them seems to take longer than it realistically should. We paid our AOS fee and after 3 days it still didn't update to "paid" I kept calling and they would just say "oh, give it a couple more days", "oh, give it a couple more days", ........ then it finally updated, turns out their system was having issues and lots of people were held up by it (many for much longer than me).

Relationship:     First met 2015, Married since Oct 2016

Spoiler

2015 Apr - First met and started chatting online (he was in the US on a J-1 visa)

2015 Sep - J-1 visa expires (2 year home stay requirement)

2016 Feb - First trip to China (10 days): met friends and family, celebrated Spring Festival (Chinese New Year), lots of sightseeing (including seeing pandas), and lots of food

2016 Feb 06 - Purchase matching jade necklaces to mark engagement

2016 Jun/Jul - Second trip to China (10 days): lots more sightseeing, food, and time with friends/family

2016 Sep/Oct - Third trip to China (10 days) this time with my parents so that my parents could meet him and his mom, along with lots of sightseeing and food (i'm sure you've picked up on a trend by now :D)

2016 Oct - At the end of the time in China my parents, myself, and Xuan all traveled to Canada (7 days) so that we could get married, but unfortunately his mom couldn't come along with us.

2016 Oct 08 - Wedding day on top of Mount Washington on Vancouver Island, and it had just snowed the night before. (L)(L)

2017 Jan - Fourth trip to China (7 days), you guessed it: food, family, friends, spring festival, ...

The CR-1 Process:    NOA1 - PD 27 Dec 2016 (TSC)

Spoiler

2016 Dec 21 - Sent I-130 packet (along with G-1145 for e-notification) by USPS priority mail express (1-day), but missed the pick-up so it won't actually leave till the next day

2016 Dec 23 - Delivery confirmed by USPS

2017 Jan 03 - Payment drawn from bank account

2017 Jan 04 - Text and email confirming USCIS receipt of petition, assignment to Texas Service Center for processing and SRC case number

2017 Jan 09 - Received I-797c notice of action by mail (NOA1) with assigned priority date of 27 Dec 2016

2017 ??? ......... just waiting patiently for NOA2 (hopefully by April/May if they ever stop transferring cases from Nebraska)

Meanwhile, read everything on the first post of this forum. Everything.:-)  You can already start ordering your birth, police, marriage certificates. And court records if police certificate isn't clear.

Perfect, still read the post. :-) lots of great information that will help you during the process. If anyone gets a checklist from August scan dates or doesn't understand the nvc process, it's because they didn't read that post. :-)

I sent about 25 pictures to USCIS with my I-130 petition.

Does NVC receive those photos from USCIS and then forward them to the embassy?

Nvc told me that they don't look at our uscis file. But yeah, everything you ever sent to the uscis and the nvc will be sent to your embassy for your interview.

Everyone, nvc doesn't deny you, that's up to your embassy to decide. NVC's role is to make sure you have the correct paperwork for your interview at your embassy. So worst case scenario, you have a checklist for missing/incorrect documents or missing signatures or mistakes on your aos/864 form. Try to avoid that. Research this forum. Research and read the posts. All answers to your questions are on this forum. All of them. USE the search function.

Makes sense. This stuff is definitely suggested to bring to your interview. Although in our case, didn't even want to see updated pics from the last year. Probably because we have been together for almost 11 years. But again, reminding people to not stress out about having to prove a bona fide relationship at the nvc stage. it's not required, will be ignored at the nvc stage.  What's important is to have all the right documents they're requesting. And making sure they're the right versions. Just imagine, 1/3 of our cases received a checklist. At one point, it was half.. not one of them received one because of lack of proof of a relationship. Not one..

Thanks so much!! Very helpful information!!  I have my i864 and i864a ready to go just waiting on letter from my employer.  The other packet is also just about put together.  Some post state copies other state originals.  I'm a little confused...does the NVC or embassy need any of my (petitioner's) original documents (birth, divorce etc.) or just the beneficiaries?  I was thinking they didn't need mine because the Embassy part is all about him but some things seem unclear.  I have him gathering originals for when he has his interview and I am compiling copies of all for NVC.

Verify your documents!

Here is a VERY USEFUL link to verify if you have the correct version of the document you need to send to the NVC (for example, a version that was accepted at the USCIS may not be accepted at the NVC sent to USCIS).. Select your country, then view the menu on the left-hand side..  (ignore selecting your visa type)

Checklist info! You can avoid them!! Research RESEARCH RESEARCH!!!

Here is a forum I started on "How to avoid a checklist. PLEASE check it out. EVEN if you already submitted your NVC paperwork!

Tips on how to avoid a checklist

Another tip to help you avoid getting a checklist. Do a search on the forum (upper right-hand corner). For example, do the following:

"Checklist, Birth Certificate, India"

"Checklist, Police Report, India"

"Checklist, Marriage Certificate, India"

"Checklist, India"

Here are the search results for "Checklist, India" You'll see right away, that there are a lot of checklists from people who didn't submit the correct Police Certificate.

Just a copy of my spouse's US Citizen passport & birth certificate, right ? - not the original. It would be crazy to have to take his passport ;).  For all other civil documents, such as our marriage certificate, my long form birth certificate, etc - i would bring the originals to the interview.
