I'm about to mail my ROC today. I was wondering if we get email updates from it? If there is an option do I need to do something in order to get it? Thanks!

Don't think it's possible to get updates online/email etc...

Think the general idea is wait a year from your NOA and then if you don't hear anything start harassing them on the phone haha

That's a bummer :/ I was hoping they would have something like the G-1145 for AOS

Thanks for the quick reply!

Thanks:)

And have another question, do u guys know if I applied with my son (included in my petition) shouldn't they send him a separate NOA? Got only one and nothing says abt him only the fee on the notice says the amount for both?! Or it suppose to be like that?

That's a good question. I would assume that they will keep you both on the same NOA, as it is the same petition/case number.

Btw are you able to track your case status online? Mine is saying it's not found

To all August 2017 filers. Be patient!

- It takes approximately a couple of weeks to get the biometric appointment

- It will take between 12 and 18 months for you to receive the decision on your ROC

- After the expiration of your extension letter (1 year) you DO NOT HAVE to get the stamp (I551) on your passport unless you need some proof of status, you need to travel outside the usa (in that case bring with you the original GC if you still have it, the original extension letter (NOA) and the stamp of your passport, plus a copy of all the above)

- If you want to get the passport stamp, schedule a infopass appointment (https://my.uscis.gov/appointment) no more than 1 month before the expiration of your extension letter. Some have got the stamp 80-90 days in advance but it's rare and USCIS prefers to give it to you closer to the expiration of your NOA, which is a year after the expiration of your 2 yrs GC. At the infopass, when they give you the stamp, they will most likely keep your expired GC since you won't need it anymore

Again, be patient and know that right now VCS is approving July 2016 filers, CSC is approving June 2016 filers.

Good luck all!

You might be searching the receipt of your NOA1. That won't work. Read the NOA again and use the number that came on the biometrics.

Absolutely you can.

- either you send the G1145 with your application (https://www.uscis.gov/g-1145)

- or you sign up with the USCIS and create an account. There you can select email/sms notifications.

Oh okay thank you @LUAL. I didn't realize they were different. I have not received by biometric letter yet, hopefully that comes soon.

Just found out somebody else experienced the same with depended included. So seems like some people don't get their NOA for kids, and they had to scheduled infopass to get a stamp in passport. I just can't believe it, so frustrated. Just hung up with USCIS tier1, who was not helpful at all and waiting for a call back with tier2 I scheduled right after. Hope they will give me some answers...

They really are a pain in the butt to deal with. They should really hire more people and get on the ball with processing petitions in a timely manner.

Are you waiting for Tier2 to call you back? I didn't realize they do call backs. Good to know

That's true...

Yeah they do have an option to call back, instead of staying on the line waiting.

Will let know when they call:)

And regarding your question, we can't track our number till biometrics appt letter comes with a different actual tracking receipt#
