This updated guidance is effective September 11, 2018 and applies to all applications, petitions, and requests, except for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) adjudications, received after that date.

It is indeed getting complicated but should no apply to people on this thread.

Anybody have any experience of getting I-551 Stamp at Dallas. Are they doing it since i am within the 90 day window period to end

I need it to show my Company for Employment purpose

Is it easy to get an Infopass appointment dates or only available at specific hours.

USCIS will no longer send RFE, instead they will just deny the petitions if there is not enough evidence included..

That’s not what the article says. Read carefully and don’t freak out people. It’s not black and white. The key is in the verbs used to describe this change. Read:

“If all required initial evidence is not submitted with the benefit request, USCIS, in its discretion, may deny the benefit request for failure to establish eligibility based on lack of required initial evidence. Examples of filings that may be denied without sending an RFE or NOID include, but are not limited to:

  • Waiver applications submitted with  little to no supporting evidence; or
  • Cases where the regulations, the statute, or form instructions require the submission of an official document or other form of evidence establishing eligibility at the time of filing and there is no such submission. For example, an Affidavit of Support (Form I-864), if required, was not submitted with an Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status (Form I-485).”

I wasn't trying to scare anybody, lol. Just shared the info. Anyways this new "rule"  will be applied to new petitioners after 09/11, it won't hurt us who are already being in process.

When did you start working for the company?

If you’re employer verified you for employment prior to your green card expiration date, they are not permitted to reverify your status.

I started for this company since 3 months but i think ( Not sure) any company might want to know the work authorization to be on safe side.

In that case, since your green card was expired and you used it in combination with the NOA, they will need to reverify you.  My previous reply would’ve only worked if you’d have started before the expiration date on your green card. In that case, the company would not be allowed to ask for further proof of status as per the I-9 handbook.

It can be difficult to get an info pass appointment but I know there is a thread with a “hack” that will alert you when an appointment becomes available.  I’ll find the thread and post it in a min

We just had a infopass appointment because my husband wanted to get the extension stamp in his passport. He is traveling for an extended period. They refused to give us the stamp until two weeks before his green card expires (October 31). He also told us the 18 month extension letters are slowly being sent out but it does not mean everyone will get one. All in all, he didn’t tell us anything we didn’t already know.

Anyone have a similar experience with the passport stamp extension?

Roughly jibes with the following:

Additionally, we will issue new Form I-797 receipt notices to eligible conditional permanent residents whose Form I-751 or I-829 was still pending as of June 11, 2018. Those Form I-797 receipt notices will also serve as evidence of continued status for 18 months past the expiration date on petitioner’s Permanent Resident Card. https://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/update-form-i-797-receipt-notices-form-i-751-and-form-i-829

**So, who gets the new letters and who don't?

We haven’t had to get the stamp yet as our expiration is in August but from what I heard on the forums is it has to be within a month of the gc expiring. Never heard 2 weeks.
