Hey guys I know that some of you Aug filers are going to apply for naturalization when the window is open. I was certain about sending my papers at the begining of Aug, and now a bit scared to not slow down the process even more regarding GC since CSC is too slow and apparently still need to wait to get an approval at least 6 more months. I know that my main point is citizenship not GC, but still if they combine two cases, who knows how long it will take then... What are your thoughts abt it?

I just checked my local office processing time and for N-400 it takes between 15-19 months, so I guess there is no reason to wait for GC first, cuz after all that time another waiting game begins.

I agree 1000%. Unless your home country doesn't allow duel citizenship or you are maybe strapped for funds to pay for the filing fee. Applying for N-400 sooner rather than later is probably a good option knowing that USCIS processing times are slowing down.

I would ignore the website - if you follow N400 threads they get crazy processing times and sworn in less than 6mo.

I've been wondering the same thing. MY window for N400 only opens in November, but i've been reading people here who says the officer refuse to interview for N400 on the spot when they realize the removal havent been approved yet. So not sure what to do

Hmmm...I think it is rare, or the officer was in bad mood, I know lots of people get their combo interviews without problem...

yeah the majority seem to go through just fine and even speed up the process.. but in the past couple weeks i've read several cases here where they said that so not sure if something is changing or they just got unlucky

I think it makes sense to file the N-400 as soon as possible...bearing in mind we’re unlikely to get our new green cards anytime soon so you could potentially be adding a bunch of time onto the process by waiting
