Didn’t realise there was a new uscis site to check the updates, was meant to receive a notice by mail but didn’t get anything so followed up with that. Not sure if they didn’t send it or my mail sucks. Either way happy to see a new website that’s a bit more efficient.

Today, after 9 months of waiting, we finally received a letter stating that there will be no need for biometrics appointment as they are using my wife's old fingerprints.  Just like most others, the uscis web site case status update says now that the case is with the field office, so we went to check the current processing times of I751 and instead of CSC now chose "Field Offices".  The processing time is 21.5 to 46.5 months!!!!!   Does this mean that some unlucky ones of us will have to wait for nearly 4 years to get the permanent green card?

The field office thing was a glitch as far as I’m aware

No it doesn't mean that. First of all i don't think your case is at local office to begin with, don't worry about what the online case status shows. Even if you get a letter sometimes it could still be a glitch or it could actually means they are working on the case.I recieved a transfer notice on may 1st that my case was transfered to lee summit Missouri but i know for a fact that my case is at local office where i had an interview 2 months ago. But even if your case is at your local office believe me it will get worked on much faster than the service centre. I believe that there has been much progress done on speeding up i 751 processing in the past 2months. Even january and feb csc filers started to recieve approvals

Hi Everyone,

Don't post much but would read all the comments so i thought i would update everyone on my case.

August 2017 filer from Texas - suffered through Harvey  ( California Service center0 got notice of extension of green card for one year about a month after application and no biometrics letter until today.

Would you believe they made a mistake with my postal code and my appointment was set up for 2 weeks from now in Orlando.

I called the office and i was told the biometric center made a mistake as my correct address is on file. I was given the nearest center at which to go get my bio done at the same date and time. The lady assured me that my case is still at California service center ( even though status update states it was sent to local center) and it will be processes in correct office as my correct address is on file ( hope that is the case). So for all those waiting on bio letters its coming. So also did confirm a 19 month wait from date of receipt of notice ( what a bummer) so it looks like next year for us.

Well at least we’ll all be able to file our N-400’s soon....only reason the current processing times don’t bother me at all

Inorder to apply for n-400 i believe you must have lived with your spouse for 3 years. I got my green card in Oct 2015 and did not officially  move to the US until July 2016 and still did not live with my husband until July 2017 as i came and set up in Texas and he eventually moved. So i still have to wait.

(90 days prior to) 3 years after whatever date is on your green card under “Resident Since:”

So for the majority of people in this thread, August 2018
