We sent in the package at end of August and received the confirmation about a week later.  But we never received any invitation for the biometrics appointment.  It has been 5 months now and I just noticed here that most people get the biometrics invitation about one month after the confirmation letter.  Has this happened to anyone else?  What number should we call?  The letter came from the California center and had a 1-800 number on it.  Is that the best number to call?  Are we now already totally screwed because of this 3-4 month delay?  My 1-year extension expires in November.  What happens if I don't get the decision and a new card before that?

Many of us CSC August filers did not receive a biometrics appointment letter. Some have reached out to USCIS, which generally said they're running behind, and you might not need to have your biometrics done again.

No, you're not totally screwed, and there is a good chance you (along with many others) will not approved before that 1-year extension expires, so you'll have to get a stamp in your passport. Time will tell! Unfortunately that's the situation right now..

Today, we called the 1800 number on the NOA letter.  Surprisingly without any waiting time an official answered and looked into the case.  She said we definitely should have received an invitation to biometrics appointment within 30 days from the receipt of our initial paperwork.  She said she was not aware of anyone getting the biometrics requirement waived.  She requested a new appointment for us and told us to call back if we have not received the invitation within 30 days.

What is this stamp we will need if we go over the 1-year expiration date?  Is it something we can get from our local USCIS office?  What is it called and is there a form we need to fill out in advance?  Can someone share a link or something about this extension stamp?  Thanks.

one thing i wanted to add to my case letter that when i received my transfer notice it said on top under case type CRI89 approved removal conditions but notice type was a transfer notice. Has anyone received a letter with that written on it? I will be going for my biometrics on thursday.

Thank you.

Just got back from my infopass appointment and was told that CSC is currently processing applications from September 2016 and I shouldn't expect to hear anything about a biometric appointment for a while.

I quote "biometrics are only valid for 15 months so we don't want to send you for them because they might expire before we've even had a chance to look at your case."

So the wait continues...

It's really frustrating that two USCIS workers that are in position supposed to be helping and advising the clients can give completely opposite information.

Did you already get the extension stamp in your passport too?  If yes, I would be curious to hear what exactly does that stamp say.

I got that answer too, right next to "and you will DEFINITELY get it (the biometrics notice) in the next two weeks." It's not true. They waive it for many people, even those tiers 1 and 2 promise up and down that they've never heard of such a thing.

No extension stamp yet as my extension letter is still valid for another few months.

Hi guys,

Just a quick update on my biometrics appointment. I have received a notice last Friday stating that USCIS is able to use my old fingerprint and I will not need to go to the ASC. The notice also includes the tracking number so I can track my case from now on. Phewww.

Hi guys

Apologies for the question but Its been about 5 months since I have been on this thread. Are we still looking at Hell freezing over before we see our 10 year CC? I had my Bio-metrics appointment 09/22/17.

Just wondering what the latest is?

Thanks and TBH, not as bad I thought.

Can we apply for Citizenship before we receive the 10 year CC? So as soon as the 3 year mark hits from my initial GC being issued, can I apply for Citizenship? Or do I have to wait for the 10 year GC to be in my hands?
