Received a reply for the service request sent on December 13. Like a lot of you, we were told they are experiencing higher than normal processing times and that our name has been added to the biometric appointment list. So I guess we just wait. :/

Did you receive the biometric letter?

If you did your biometric, then you did your part.

Now you just have yo wait for their response, because you applied to California Center in Aug 2017, that means you may hear a response around Aug-Dec 2018

If you did not receive the biometric letter until now, you should call them.

Hello folks,

I have a question and really need help.

I received my biometric letter a couple of days ago which I have been waiting for almost 4 months.

While I was waiting with my wife, I called to inquire about biometric and USCIS said I need to wait due to a long line.

The letter was saying that the appointment was Oct 2016 and I had to show up or reschedule it.

The letter was mailed in 01/04/17 post-marked. What should I do?

Nope, I haven't received the biometrics letter yet. I know it's a waiting game but I feel like this is taking far too long! Yes I will call them tomorrow. Thank you so much for replying! Good luck!

Feel the same here!

But we don't quite need the actual 10-year GC to apply for Citizenship right?

For our group (August filers), yes, it is normal. Many of us are in the same situation. USCIS is really back logged it seems. I wouldn't be too stressed about it.

Hi all,

Another August filer here. We received a receipt notice on September 3 and NOTHING else since that. Any updates for others?

I put in a service request only today, as I've heard so many stories of people in the same situation as us.

Hey everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!

I wanted to give you all an update: My wife and I filed our joint 751 petition, and received the green card extension NOA1 form last August.

No biometric notice, no nothing since then. I went to an Info Pass appointment after Hurricane Irma and the officer advised me that everything in the system is fine, and to wait. She told me to come back if I dont hear anything back by December. Well the holidays came and went.

I went to another Info Pass appointment on Tuesday. The immigration officer was a very pleasant gentleman, very professional, and very informative. He told me that the case is moving through the system and processing fine. He said that the fingerprints have been waived. I then asked him if I can get the receipt# I can use to track the case online, and he said he doesn't have that, but I am more than welcome to call the 800# to get it. I called, and got transferred to a tier 2 officer and received my new WAC #. Back to the Info Pass officer - he told me adjudications now take between 12-18 months, and he invited me to apply for Naturalization once I'm eligible.

So everyone who hasn't heard anything back from USCIS yet, do not stress yourselves over it. They are just backlogged, understaffed, and overworked. I know the waiting game sucks. It does. I want to have my permanent green card too so I can travel easier (it's not hard to travel with the 751 extension letter, but it is a pain in the butt), since I do a lot of international travel for my job.

The end of January is near, so we will all be eligible to naturalize under the three year rule in less than six months.

I hope everyone is doing great! Take care
