Interview is scheduled for December 19th at 10:AM. I am surprised too i was expecting a biometrics letter. Idk if its a good thing or a bad thing

That is quite bizarre. I don't know how they operate, but I have read if you send a package that does not contain enough material or too much they send it straight for interview. I guess they can tell by the weight of it.  There was one person who went for interview last year after filing in  last October, around March.

Their package weighed 1lb and I suspect, but can't be sure it had too little evidence, when I look at mine with 10lb or was it 15lb. (can't remember).  Could be the fact they just randomly pick out a packages for interview, or it could be something to do with your name.

I also find that people who came over on a F1 visa are more likely to be interviewed, although you entered the USA through a K1 visa.  Who knows how they work, I have given up trying to understand their methodology.  However, you are one of the chosen/lucky few.   At least you will be able to relax during 2018 when you receive your GC.

As for bio-metrics and no one having them, well I don't know what to say. Perhaps this may help them play catch up, but I doubt it as its the centres that are way behind,  it might help the field offices though which will have a knock on effect for anyone waiting for an interview, be it through AOS, ROC or Naturalization.

Oh wow, you got bio metrics, looking at the posts in the August 2017 it seems many are still waiting for them.  Good luck with your wait, especially if you are currently with CSC, although always subject to change.

I was looking at my interview letter and realized that it doesn't state any case number for us just says reference number that is my Alien registration number. I am so confused, first we received an interview letter without any update on biometrics and it has no case number on it :( should I be worried? I am so stressed about everything.

Hi guys, I am also an August 17 filer and having the same situation.

Received my NOA on 8/23/17, did an online inquiry on 10/12/17 and got a response on 10/27/17 saying that USCIS has experienced a slow processing time.

Still haven't received the Biometrics letter yet :(

Has anyone got any news?

Is this what your interview letter looked like? (I found this on the web)

It looks like there should be a case number at the top (Receipt #) - If you have any other questions, you could always call the USCIS call center.

I wouldnt stress, its not worth it making you ill. You need to call USCIS for confirmation of this appointment. I doubt it's anything sinister, but if you ring to confirm the appointment it will put your mind at rest.  I am not sure a tier 1 will have access to interview letters, seems they don't have access to much of anything, however a Tier 2 officer should be able to confirm to you whether or not you're due an interview. I know it's hard but I would look upon this forthcoming interview as a stroke of luck. I have just read a post from a June 16 filer still waiting 17 or so months, it just ridiculous. They should cut the fees for such slow service not put them up willy nilly and then slow down the service to a point where they cant cope with the overload.

I received my NOA on 7/28, submitted online service request and received pretty much same email as you. I decided to call USCIS about 2-3 weeks ago and spoke a tier 2 person. She put a request on my behalf and told me I should receive a letter in 15 days.

Couple days ago, I did receive a letter saying I don’t need biometrics this time. I also got the receipt number to track my case online. I highly recommend calling USCIS. Good luck! :)

Hi Kayla,

I am in the exact same situation as you. I received my NOA on 8/23/17, did the online service request, got the same response.

So I decided to call USCIS today and also spoke to a tier 2 officer. She said that no appointment has been scheduled for me yet and this case can take up to a year so all I have to do is wait. I asked her if she can put a request on my behalf, she refused and told me that whenever USCIS decide that they need a biometrics taken they will schedule the appointment. What is that supposed to mean???

Why did I not get the same response as you did? I am so frustrated right now :( Any words of advice?

Thank you!

Why didn't you get the same response? If there is something USCIS is great at, it's giving inconsistent answers! Seriously, you'll get better info on VJ than from your average Tier 2 officer on the phone.

Any words of advice? A couple suggestions: 1. Call USCIS back and pray you get a better Tier 2 officer. If your prayer isn't answered, you can over and over until you finally get someone useful. 2. Just shrug your shoulders and hope for the best.

My wife has decided on the #2 option since she has her NOA2 letter, and as long as she has proof she's a legal resident, she's "content". We had enough USCIS BS and Tier 2 fools when going through the K-1 process.... Just grateful the AOS process went ok!

Yep totally agree with usmsbow’s response. Everyone gets different answers from USCIS. In my case, the tier2 person I talked on the phone never mentioned about my biometrics being waved. She put a request on my behalf and told me I should receive an appointment letter in 15 days. Instead, I recevied a letter stating I don’t need biometrics this time, they’ll re-use previous biometrics they have on file. If you’re too worried, I’d recommend calling them again. This is all we can do, calling and just waiting, waiting, and waiting.... :(

Hi all,

Another August filer here. We received a receipt notice on September 3 and NOTHING else since that. Any updates for others?

I put in a service request only today, as I've heard so many stories of people in the same situation as us.
