Ok, they haven't cashed our check yet.  I wonder are they slowing down at Vermont for the second half of August?

We just filed our I-751 on August 29, 2017.  Was surprised to see that the process takes about a year.  My wifes "conditional" green card expires at the end of November.  Does anyone know if she can travel outside the country after November while waiting for her new card?

Thank you,

Alan & Gena

She can travel outside the country as soon as she gets her NOA1 extention 1 year letter from USCIS. It will take you abt a week from filing date to get one. After she has it, she just needs her passport, current GC(even it will be expired by then) and this NOA letter.

Just found out USCIS cashed our checks! Waiting for my NOA before end of next week. :)

Just 11 months and 29 days 11 hours and 58 minutes more till I receive my approval...

Questions to the VJ Veterans out there:

1. My Conditional GC doesn't expire till 10/29/17. Can I still travel outside CONUS with my old GC till say 10/28/17?

2. Do I need the extension letter even if I return to the US before the validity of my conditional GC ends? For example, now that I've filed my I-751 and I travel without the NOA but re-enter US say 9/30/17, can I still do that using my old GC or should I wait till I get my NOA in mail?

Well you should have your extension letter in the next week, so unless you're travelling in the next week then there's nothing to worry about anyway as you'll have your extension letter!

I would wait till NOA1 arrives. You never know what can happen, in case they won't send it to you( which sometimes happens and people need to get a stamp in their passport) or it gets lost in mail, anything can happen, then you won't be able to return with your expired GC. Better be safe than sorry, or just plan on returning before your GC expire.

Hopefully, I get my NOA next week.. It is also Labor Day Weekend so a little worried. In the off chance, that I don't receive the NOA before my upcoming trip, can I use my current Global Entry/GC to re-enter the US or would it flag me at CBP as someone who has a pending application with USCIS?

That's what I'm worried about. On my upcoming trip, I should be back well before my GC expires and won't have to travel again for a few weeks.
