I just noticed a trend going on. The cases that were NOT transferred with the recent mass transfer have been getting a lot of approvals this week. I figured it out by keeping history of the cases since a while ago and the only ones getting approvals are the ones that haven't been touched since February/March. So I guess this is good news to whomever hasn't been transferred, your chances are higher

Hi- So I am expecting two mails from USCIS today/Monday(Got a notification from USPS)

1) Seems to be a normal letter. I think its just a notification that we completed the case you opened with us and re-sent the 18 month extension notice

2) This is a normal 2 page watermark notice. Any idea what can it be?

RFE or

Approval Notice or

Notice that my case was transferred to a new jurisdiction or

A courtesy copy of the 18 month notice since I don't have an attorney

My online case status hasn't changed and still says case was transferred to my local office on 4/9

I have not applied for naturalization either.

Also please note I already received the new watermark 18 month notice after the service request was completed so unless they are sending the same notice again, it cannot be that

Hopefully is not RFE.  At least you know that they are working on your case. Good luck. What service center is working your case?

First question:

Why did I receive I-797C first week of August this year which was printed in just a normal white bond paper and only this morning today I’ve received I-797 printed in a hard paper with watermark in it.

Is this just but normal?

Please see the attached images for reference.

I was surprised to see on my mailbox this morning today a letter from the USCIS. I filed my I-751 on 08/30/2017.

I’ve already received my 18-month extension 1st week of August this year but it shows I-797C printed in a normal white paper. First I was curious why it wasn’t printed on the hard paper with the Statue of Liberty watermarks in it. Then I decided to google it online and I’ve found this through the USCIS site and satisfied my curiosity but why did I just receive today a I-751? I didn’t even request or contact the USCIS for a new one or anything since I’m just waiting for my approval just like everyone else here.

“Starting on April 2, 2012, Form I-797C, Notice of Action will:

  • be printed on plain bond paper and
  • include a header stating “THIS NOTICE DOES NOT GRANT ANY IMMIGRATION STATUS OR BENEFIT.”

Previous to April 12, 2012, USCIS printed Form I-797Cs with a DHS seal and on more expensive bond paper. We determined that these notices could be printed on plain bond paper which results in cost savings to the government. In addition, after April 12, 2012, Form I-797Cs will contain the disability accommodation information on the reverse side to reduce paper use. See the press release for more details.”

Second question:

Why don’t I ever receive any email or text updates from USCIS like the other people here despite the fact that my notifications have been on through my USCIS DHS account since day 1.

Is there anyone here experienced the same scenario/s?

Thanks and I really appreciate your insights.
