Ok, I got the below response from USCIS. Not sure why they sent the 18 month courtesy letter then.

The status of this service request is:

Please note that the Receipt Notice (Form I-797) for your Petition to Remove the Conditions on Residence (Form I-751) lawfully extends your conditional permanent resident status for 12 months beyond the expiration date shown on your Conditional Permanent Resident Card.  This document confers all of the same benefits you had during the conditional two-year period, including work authorization and travel.   Be advised that if you wish to travel outside the United States during the processing of your Form I-751, you must possess your expired Conditional Permanent Resident Card, passport, and an original I-751 Receipt Notice (Form I-797).

If your 12-month extension expires while your case is still pending, you must schedule an appointment with your local field or district office as indicated below to receive a stamp in your passport to extend your authorization of work and travel for another year.  If you would like to schedule an appointment with your local office, please visit our web site at www.uscis.gov.  You must use the InfoPass Appointment Scheduler prior to visiting your local office.  You will need to bring this letter, a copy or the original receipt notice and your valid passport with you.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

Trying to look for infopass appointments but none available. I guess the key is to keep trying everyday.

That makes NO sense....they even stated on their website they switched to the 18 month extension due to processing time delays.

I just noticed that the 18 month extension letter I received was also a courtesy copy. How did you submit a request to USCIS?

I just submitted a case inquiry for "Did Not Receive Notice By Mail". Is that what you did? If yes, what type of notice did you indicate and where did you write that you are missing a watermarked copy?

I indicated type of notice as "Other" since there was no option for a Receipt/Action Notice and just mentioned I am missing watermarked copy of my 18 month extension in the space given for "Last Action Taken on Case"

Thanks!

Yup I put " Non-Delivery of Other Notice"  and I think there was a comment box or something where I put I received the courtesy copy of the 18 month extension but not the official watermarked copy.

Hi all,

Just wanted to share that we received the official 18 month extension notice today after submitting a "Did not receive notice by mail" request as we only got the courtesy copy originally.

I encourage anyone who has not received the official notice yet to go this route since it can be so difficult to get infopass appointments. It will give peace of mind to many. :)

Thats great news. How long did it take for them to send you the notice once you submitted an inquiry?

I called up USCIS after the response I got(I posted it separately here) and the tier 2 officer submitted a new request for missing receipt notice. So I should hopefully get a new watermarked 18 month extension letter soon.

Btw- When you submitted the request, did you receive any e-mail response?

I submitted the request on September 20th, received an email response on October 2nd and got the notice today (Oct. 4th).

Congrats! I saw 313 had a lot of movement today :) I'm 314 and not much going on there yet. Would you mind giving more info about your case? Are you a waiver filer? Did you file N-400? had any case transfers, RFE, and/or interview?

Very classic case: filled in August 2017 to renew my GC, went through biometrics a month later. I didn't hear anything about my case until now apart from the "transfer to your local office" update. I've changed my address twice in December and 3 weeks ago.

I have no filled for N-400 because I read you need to have lived 6 months in the same place to do so. No RFE or interview (so far).

Exactly, we are where we are and let's not put illegals and legals in separate baskets because that is not going to change anything at this very moment. We all are humans and let's treat each other like we want to be treated. No one here is blaming anyone but rather wishes for this to be over, just like you. There are road blocks that people are facing, so let's not add to that either. This journey is stressful enough, so like you said, let's make it less stressful and support one another

I support legal immigration and those involved in legal immigration.
