Made it safely to the US

After a 17 hours drive we made it in Chicago on Sunday night. Went through Sarnia/Port Huron. So far all I have to say is the first guy outside was a real dickhead, asked us few questions about the stuff, if we had food, etc while Looking at Josh and Josh was answering.....until the guy told him to shut up cause that was my stuff and he was asking me cause the guys always say they have nothing with them....like #######. And then after reassuring him 3 times that I had no Beef in my chicken salad sandwich ( again #######) he finally sent us inside for my K-1. Well his name was George, if you see him run away, booth number 10. Inside they were really nice, but the guy was activating a K-1 for the first time so he took his time not to screw up, and the Supervisor was really handy ( Wilson is his name). I asked for the EAD stamp and he told me they never issue that one in Port Huron ( weird cause I swear i read someone got it ). After 1h30 ( 45 min waiting to get there and about 45 min inside) we were on our way. Stamped everything, took my 6$ for my I-94, looked at my list so they didnt bother looking into the car ( now Josh wish he had took more of that good quebec's beer). So thats about it! We got the keys for our appartment today and its alright Not a castle but its nice for what it is. We went at his older son's baseball practice and I got my first baseball cap and baseball glove today! Much packing to do to move in saturday but everything is going to be fine!

And of course, now my fiance claims he found a cool Alien for 6$ at the customs...thats all he kept saying to his family on the phone and his coworkers today...

Anyways, well keep you updated and Good luck for anyone having an interview or waiting for an approval or a Visa this week!!!

Sorry, Mephys. I was the one that said that Port Huron will give the temp EA stamp. I was chit-chatty with an officer once about the K1 on a slow crossing day, and she told me that they will issue a temp EA stamp. So, I don't know. :shrug: I'm surprised you had trouble with the primary inspection guy. For the most part they are pretty good, I'm trying to figure out which one George could be. It seems like they have quite a few new officers there, though. But, whenever anyone is crossing with someone else, make sure sure you don't answer questions for the other person. And, make sure you scarf down any food you may have before you actually you get to the border, at least anything non-processed such as burgers or sandwiches, and definitely have nothing that has any beef in it. It's too bad, because I sure miss the hard salami from Zehr's.

It is true.. two items they ask specifically about are beef & citrus. Not allowed to take those through the US border. They have asked me everytime for those items (they will throw then directly in the trash).

I agree about not answering for others.....but he was looking at him while talking!!!! Then when he wasked for alcohol Josh answered but then he got pissed and said he was talking to me cauyse its my sutff...like hey, it isnt MY beer its HIS beer damnit!! but George is an old guy with white hair, a big ugly nose and he wears glasses....

The other people were really nice inside and made up for it!

Now the next 2 weeks are not going to be so smooth.....wow hes got a lot of things to move to the other place....and funnt thing we went to get a mouse for our snake last night...then we stopped at Meijer and found a table we liked for the kitchen, cause hes not brining the other one its too big. The box was all ripped off but we managed to get a 50% discount on it cause nobody would buy it like that, even thought the parts were in really good shape....but while doing this the mouse escaped from its cheap carboard box in the car behind the middle panel.... Good thing we set up a trap with Peanut butter and caught it this morning, One less headache!
