The NOA 2 is like the first notice you received acknowledging your application. The petition is then sent to the NVC. The NVC posts or emails information for the next stages

yes there are a lot more documents needed. Look at the state.gov website and search for NVC process. Also read the vj guide for IR1... not all the documents needed are the same but it steps you through the process.

Thank you so much!

People, I received an RFE recently. PD is July 19th. I am being asked to provide documents to prove that the two names I used are the same person. I am not really concerned about that. My concern is the DNA testing that is optional (I guess) and voluntary. If I opt to do it, I am just wondering about the USCIS possibly waiting for the results before they decide on my case. The letter said that favorable results won't really guarantee an approval. I don't know if it will be of any help. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Just to give you all an update of my status.

PD: June 23, 2017

RFE: January 30, 2018

RFE received in uscis: February 8, 2018

Petition approved: Feb 15, 2018

NVC received my approved petition: Feb 24

Right now, I'm waiting for NVC to email me the welcome letter so that I can continue to the next steps.

I called them and they told me that I need to give them couple of weeks more because they received a lot of cases this month.

I am in the waiting zone right now.
