Birth certificate and marriage certificate discrepancy

My father's middle name in our marriage certificate is different from my birth certificate. I've thought of having my birth certificate be annotated. However, my Father's birth certificate has some issues. It has a different spelling on his first name, he has the same middle name and family name. If he submits supporting documents to correct it, for example his marriage certificate, more issues would be coming up because my mother's name spelling is different in my birth certificate from what she's using. It's messed up.

Is there anybody here who had the same problem before? What did you do?  I'll try to get an affidavit of one and the same person and that he is indeed my dad but I don't know if that is acceptable. Any suggestions are very much appreciated.

If our BC is correct then there is nothing further to be concerned with. The interviewing CO knows the problems in the Philippines with the inaccuracy for the naming on BC. Philippines has a problem of getting names on official documents correctly. They know that. But their concern is with your BC. They want that to be correct. If it is correct then move on.

Is YOUR name correct on both documents?      If yes, then relax.

Lots of people have the same issue as you, fairly common actually..

Yes, my name is correct on both documents. I got my new passport under my married name recently and it seemed not to be an issue.Still I was worried when it comes to the U.S. Consulate with accepting documents so it was a relief to know that.

You will be fine.. it is your name that needs to be correct on all documents.    There are lots of   with documents here in the Phils.

Hi i have asked about to have my NBI AKA name. Do i need to wait the email from the embassy, before i go to NBI? Thanks.

Have you used another name besides what is shown on your birth certificate?    Then you need the AKA on your NBI (for travel abroad version).  No you do not wait for the embassy to ask.. this is noted in the embassy instructions letter to have the AKA.

There is a link on this site to the instructions letter  http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/k-1-visa-application.html

Nope. In my case, my BC was no middle name when i born because they not married yet that time, and after how many years they got married and they change my BC to have middle name. I don't no what to put on my Aka name, they don't have further instructions. But after my interview i receive a 2GO Courier Submission letter from them. And how can i receive a 221g?

That letter through 2GO IS the 221g.

AKA in your case would be your name before the BC was changed (no middle name)  and then your name after (with middle name).  Take a copy of the letter from the embassy with you to NBI.

That's true. My husband and I were relieved to know that it won't be an issue. Thanks to all of you who are very helpful in this forum.

Ya I agree.   .. a hospital starts filling out the BC asking for names and such, the person completing the form may not ask for proper spelling and the new mom & dad either don't read the document before signing or don't question the typos.   Or with some, to avoid the illegitimate issue "fake a fathers name" .. only to bite them later on down the road.
