Everyone,

I am working on my I-129F and I have a few questions.

1. My father is deceased, and my fiancees father is deceased (no relation). Do we need to indicate this on the I-129F?

2. My fiancees mother does not have a middle name. What do I put for the Middle Name question of the I-129F?

3. The I-129F asks for the town where the beneficiaries parents reside. Do they want the name of the town where they currently live, or the town where they were born? What about the deceased father, as he technically no longer resides anywhere?

4. I am unsure how to handle non-USA style addresses. My fiancee lives in Costa Rica. Her work address and her residence addresses are of the following form:

    San Rafael Heredia

    De la clínica 100mtrs sur

They have no zip codes. Frequently there are no building numbers (address) or no street names. The thing that is typically used as an address specifies the town, province, and location relative to a landmark (distance in meters and direction). Sometimes it specifies the color of the house, or the number of floors. The address above is where my fiancee previously lived. It is located 100 meters south of the medical clinic.

How do I fit this into the requested format for the I-129F? Should I try to find street numbers in Google maps? I want to do this correctly, I don't want my petition to be rejected or delayed.

Thanks in advance, this forum is awesome! I would be totally lost without it.

Regards,

Steve

  1. If deceased, you can put in their name and for the address column, you can write 'deceased'. That's what we did for my fiance's dad.
  2. If she does not have a middle name, a N/A or blank, whichever you're more comfortable using. We did N/A.
  3. It does say city/town/village of residence so definitely where she is currently living.
  4. Not familiar with Costa Rican addresses but those lines are probably street addresses. I wouldn't suggest you to add anything to the addresses. If that's how their addresses are, leave them as is. The local embassy staff should be familiar with the concept.

ETA for #4: Ask your fiancee, which part is the town, state and province so you could input them appropriately. The part where you said they usually list a landmark, color of house or floor number, you can list that as the street address.

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.
