Do they now? They really marry out if their culture? I did not say they don't marry non-Moroccans so please don't put words in my mouth.  My sister-in-law cannot marry a non-Muslim and the rest of the women are encouraged to marry within their culture either Moroccan or Berber.  They may marry on-Moroccans but they don't stray far away from their Arabic or Berber roots. I'm not an expert but I don't think my husband (who is Moroccan) would lie to me when explaining their culture for both men and women.

Ehm, where exactly did I put words in your mouth? You stated that it's unusual for Moroccan woman to marry outside of their culture. I replied with: many Moroccan woman mary non Moroccan man.

I didn't refer to the Berber nor Arab culture ( nor did I get the impression that you referred to both )  since the TO isn't Arab or Berber but US citizen.

Don't know what part of Morocco your husband comes from and what type of Berber since there are four different groups with their own customs and traditions. But marriages between Arabs and Berbers are very common this days.

I will be happy to provide  my fb profile  to those that think I am a old geezer.  Thanks to everybody that provided their insights.

Don't do that, you don't need to proof anything to anybody. Just be cautious and pay attention to things. And if things turn allright for you guys just realize it's going to be a long journey. Morocco has the reputation of a high fraud country, that's a fact that will affect your immigration process.

Also, be prepared for this to take years!!! Doubtful she will get a b2 and doubtful u will get a k1. R u really willing to wait 3+ years??

I really suggest match.com or ourtime.com just ask yourself if a greencard wasn't involved, would this lady really be interested in You?

Here's a preliminary list of potential red flags (by the time you file):

- Age difference: An almost 40 years old age difference is a really big gap, even for girls from my country...And judging by her Facebook activity, I can tell she's a pretty modern and open minded young lady. In other words, she thinks outside the old fashioned box where it's okay to marry an older man, let alone a much older man...

Religious difference: A Muslim woman can only marry a Muslim man (the Consulate does take this into consideration, they asked me about it...).

- Not enough face time: you only met once in real life for a humble total of 10 days (not sure about your Las Vegas plan though, IF she gets a tourist visa and IF she can convince the officer at the airport).

- Only filed a few months after knowing her: Not enough time to gather sufficient proof of ongoing relationship and simply means you don't really know her.

- Met on Facebook: Not usually a red flag, but it might raise a few eyebrows. Especially given the nature of her Facebook e-commerce activity.

So unless you're willing to try to remedy to these red flags, I think your chances of getting approved are pretty much small. After all, we're all here to help each other and combat potential fraud.

Good luck! :)

Why do you assume all Moroccan women or men for that matter are Muslim?

Next sentence is even more bias but whatever rocks your boat.

Furthermore, TO is 60+ and not a kid. I assume he has enough life experience to make his own decisions. And many people have given him input regarding the red flags.

With 93% of its population being considered religious,[2] Islam is the majority and constitutionally established state religion in Morocco. The vast majority of Muslims in Morocco are Sunni belonging to Maliki school of jurisprudence. The King of Morocco claims his legitimacy as a descendant of the Islamic prophet Muhammad[citation needed].

The second-largest religion in the country is Christianity but most Christians in Morocco are foreigners. Only a fraction of the former number of Jews has remained in the country, many having moved to Israel.

The Moroccan constitution grants the freedom to worship and congregation, while recognizing Islam as the state religion. But the Moroccan penal code contains many laws that contradicts the constitution, including the 220, 222 articles of the penal code of the country, which are usually used against non-Muslim Moroccans. [3]

Everyone can dig up an article from the internet and present that as the 'truth'.

UK is a Christian country, does that mean every UK citizen is a Christian?

There are many Moroccan who are atheist or agnostic. They are not open about it, but it doesn't mean they are Muslim no matter what statistics say.

To quote Mark Twain: there are three different lies; lies, damned lies and statistics
